Those of you from the Wisconsin area...Our flight is at 7:30 am and since we have to be there around 5:30, we have decided to stay overnight in a hotel near the airport. Can anyone recomend a "clean" one in a safer area? We are looking at La Quinta as my husband gets a discount. Also, are there any places in the airport to get breakfast besides donuts? Thanks.

I live 10 minutes from O'Hare, and ALWAYS drive north for about an hour to fly Milwaukee and Miwest Airlines (I presume that is your airline too, they have a 7:30 I always take).

I always stay at the Starwood Sheraton Four Points across the street. I leave my car there (I move it to in front of the adjacent bowling alley in the AM) and they drive me to the drop off at the airline. When I return, Icall them up, they pcik me up and drop back at the hotel. I get the car and head home. Nice. :thumbsup2

Here is a link to their website.....

If you are not already, sign up for a Starwood Club, it helps, and the points are great (Swan and Dolphin are Starwood also :cool1: ) When making a reservation, check the drop down for any special rates, AAA, etc. Or maybe hubby has rates there too.

When making the reservation, also ask for an upgrade in the detail box, if possible at checkin, if available. They are really great there.

If you are flying MA, concourse D. They have a Burger King with breakfast stuff before the security check, and down by the gates there is a quick food place too, eggs, bagels, etc.

If any questions, drop me a PM.

Again, it's great.

right near the airport is the Sheraton(mentioned), Clarion, Best Western, Amerisuites. These are all right across the street from the airport(Howell Ave). There are also some a bit farther away- like on 13th St(Howell would be 0th st if it was a number, so about 13 blocks away.)
You may want to look on a Park and Fly type website. We usually fly out of Chicago and stay the night and leave our car there while we are gone. Take the hotel shuttle to and from the airport. It usually is around the same price as if we would just park somewhere.

If you find a hotel you are interested in, but want to know about the neighborhood, PM me. The areas I mentioned are fine and there are McD's, Burger King, Ponderosa, etc all very close by

We just stayed at the Four Points Sheraton in Milwaukee, it's an okay hotel. Rooms are average, but fine for what we need it for. The shuttle service is very good and only takes about 5 mins to get to the airport. I remember seeing a perkins near the hotel also Burger King and Wendy's. There is also a restaurant or two in the airport. We have eaten at one of the places for lunch and it was good.
