I know the Whitehall Room is in the GF, and the GF has that rule that you cant book it until 8 months out because its a convention center. Does that apply to the Whitehall Room as well? My DF and I are very particular about the date we want and are worried about choosing a place that we will have to wait to book, and then possibly not get our date and first choice. Can anyone shed some light on this?

We also really like the Living Seas, and I originally liked Cali Grill but there are not many pictures for me to base my decision on..any Cali Grill pictures out there?

Another, (sorry for so many questions) can the chair covers be taken off or recovered with a different pattern in the Attic? We really like this place but are also worried about the amount of people, we dont have any idea whether its gonna be 30 or 50+ people....

Basically our dilemma is that we are trying to find a reception venue that is cozy and welcoming that we can book 12 months out for a lunch. We are considering the LSS because we love it so much but are worried about all of the decor and floral we would have to go through disney on. Alot of the places weve seen and liked wouldnt take a bunch of additional decor.


Oh, Im a November 2011 Wishes Bride looking for a noon ceremony and could have from 30 people to 50-55 max and want at least a little dancing at the reception. HTH

Yes.

Unfortunately, that's the risk you run. However, in general, people don't have too much trouble getting the venues they want unless it is a popular date or a holiday.

There have been numerous posts about California Grill receptions in the last few months - try Googling terms like Napa Room and Sonoma Room and the phrase "site:disboards.com" as a limiter.

No. They aren't standard convention center chairs, they're more like wicker patio furniture. However, if you will have more than 50 people and want more than just first dances, the Attic is probably not a good venue for you anyway. If there is the potential for bad weather, they lower the capacity to as many people as can fit in the room itself, since the patio may not be able to be used.

Is this one of the places you have visited? Many people feel that it doesn't require much floral or decor. Also, Disney is very willing to work within a budget for floral and decor. You may not get as much bang for your buck as you would with an outside vendor, but they aren't going to require you to spend a certain amount either.
