Here's the official word. My guess is they will probably have a soft opening earlier as well.
ANAHEIM (Company Press Release) - This fall, guests at Disney's California Adventure can experience the "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" game show. Recreated to look and feel as it does on television, complete with the dramatic lighting and high tech set, the "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Play It!" attraction opens to the public on Friday, September 14 inside the Hollywood Pictures Backlot area of the park. Theme park guests will play for points, winning unique prizes along the way. Prizes will range from collectible pins, t-shirts and hats to a grand-prize trip to New York City to view a taping of the ABC-TV show. The live show at DCA, which is approximately 25 minutes in length, will run continuously through-out the day in a 600-plus-seat studio. "Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It!" will also include Disney's Fastpass. "We're thrilled to now be able to offer our guests the ability to experience the excitement of one of America's most popular game shows," noted Cynthia Harriss, president of the DISNEYLAND Resort. "This live attraction version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It!' fits in beautifully with the theme of Hollywood Pictures Backlot, where our guests become the stars. Guests will find out for themselves what it's like to sit in their own hot seat."
