Has anyone travelling solo, recieved any "Million Dreams" suprises? I am wondering if a CM sees you and thinks you are by yourself, like at a restaurant, they may try and do something special for you or are they looking for families. Also, what would you do if you were chosen for something that was better suited for a family with kids. Can you take "door # 2"?

Just curious,(I guess I'll find out in 4 months!)

I've been wondering about this, too. It seems like they'd rather give the big stuff to people who are there with their family to a solo. Hopefully we solo people won't get overlooked!

I was on a solo trip Sept 22 - 29. On the 25th I was sitting outside LTT waiting for my ADR time. Two CM's came up and started visiting with me, asked me who I was waiting for, etc. I was waiting for my son because he drove up from Tampa to spend a day or two. When they heard I was on a solo trip, (even though I was waiting for DS) one of them reached in her bag and pulled out a Mickey ears hat and gave it to me. She said she thought I deserved it for coming solo. A nice surprise. :mickeyjum

And did you wear the hat?? :goodvibes

I will be spending two days solo in Dec before my two sisters join me; I will not be going to any parks those two days but it is good to hear they are giving attention to all; not just families, etc. At first I thought they were just in parks, but have read people receiving things in DTD and restaurants outside of the parks :wave2:

For the computer controlled "major" prizes (i.e. everything from the lanyards and dream fastpasses on up), the CM's have no control anyway, so it's going to be random if it's someone solo or a large group.

As to the discretionary "magic", I think you've got just as much of a chance as anyone. I think that's especially true since many solo's simply chat more with CM's, and who knows what that can lead to.

I'm excited about the promotion, and on my next trip if something cool happens that's great. If not - well, I'm at DISNEY WORLD, LOL, so it doesn't matter.

I too, though, will be curious to hear of any solos getting to take part in the promotion.

hey the only think I want is the castle overnight and since I will be solo and it doesn't even start until Jan - I don't think i will get it....

Heck, all I'd like is a reservation at CRT! I'll even pay for my meal. I just want to get into the castle!

Well, now, then, there, hummm ... My take on this "Million Dreams" thing is to ignore it completely. I don't expect to "win" anything on my upcoming solo trip, and probably won't be paying much attention to it. I always have a good time solo at WDW, and expect to do so again this time. No prize necessary.

Enjoy.

I was wondering how often this might happen, so if any solos get dreams, please post here. I read on another Forum that a solo got something (a free cookie, I think) at the MS Bakery.

As an example, we were told, a member of the Dream Squad might be instructed to go to the exit area from Buzz LightYear and pick the 7th person passing a particular point in the exit area at 3:47pm, and if people are side-by-side pick the person on the left. They are also to ask the person to come with them to a non-public area where the envelope will be opened (the Dream Squad member will not know in advance what the prize is).

I went solo to Typhoon Lagoon last week and as I entered the park, I was given a key to a free locker with towels, refillable mugs, and one of those small plastic waterproof holder things in it. Though I think the CM that gave it to me thought that I was with the people walking next to me! She also gave them the same thing.

I traveled solo over Halloween, and i got 2 Million Dreams awards, about an hour apart in the same day!!

First I received the fast pass card for all the rides at MGM, i was in the que line ready to see the preshow for RNR, and they gave them out to us. Since MGM was not busy that day, i didnt get to use the fast passes, but it was cool that i won. Then i went over to Tower of Terror, and was in the preshow room, and at the end of the Twilight TV part, they all gave us the lanyards with the 2 pins! Man was i stoked!! and very lucky that day!

That was my magical moment!!

Wow thats surprising, most of the people I saw getting approached by CM's with pins or wearing the lanyards, hats, fastpasses were what I would describe as the peferct family. It's good to know they would recognize people that are on solo trips too.

On my trip in October, I received dreams twice. On this trip I was solo about 50% of the time and with my sister and her family the rest of the time. The first dream was when I was with my sister, her husband and kids. We were at test track and they gave everyone in our room for the pre-show the lanyards with 2 pins. Everyone in the room got them so if you are solos or with a group, it didn't matter. My second dream was when I was solo. I was going into Dinosaur at AK and the dream squard was pulling everyone into a room and giving them a wrist band that let you spend a hour in the park after closing (5:30 to 6:30). Again, the way the this one was given out, they basically selected a whole group of people to get the dream.
