thanks eve::MinnieMo

Hi Eve

Sorry, can't help with directions but a friend of mine just got back yesterday and she went to the mall at millenia and said it was liking walking in to Europe, with European prices!! She said she wouldn't waste her time going back again. She got loads of bargains at Beltz outlets and Premium outlets. ($140 Ralph Lauren shirt for $9!!!!!!) I know everyone's different but thought I would let you know.

the reason i wanted to go to millenia mall is because i heard they had a few good shops like macy's and bloomingdales and plus i was told there was a tiffany&co store there and i want a bracelet fom there::yes::
i have been to the belz and altough we got some good bargains i wasn't really that keen on it:rolleyes: dh calls me a snob because i didn't really like it, have you been to the florida mall?

thanks eve::MinnieMo

It may not offer the same levels of bargins - but it is a stunning mall with fabulous shops. I set up camp at Barnies Coffee shop and left the GF to it... She loved it and the coffee was pretty good.

As for finding them - Mall at Millenia is near J78 or the I4 clearly signposted. Very easy to get to.

The Florida Mall (I usual drop in here on the way back to the airport) is on Orange Blossom Trail. The road that crosses the top of I-drive (near universal) is Sand Lake Road. Follow this road East for twenty minutes or so and the Mall is on your right. You will not miss it!

A bit vague here, my wife is the expert on directions I just do the driving..but the Florida Mall is just off Orange Blossom Trail, approx 5 miles from the junction of International Drive and Sand Lake Road.
The Mall At Millenia is off Conroy Road off the I4 - not quite sure what exit but past Universal by about possibly 10 miles or so?

thanks for the directions::yes::
we are not driving while over there so is it still as easy when not going by car or will getting a taxi be better?we don't mind getting busses there but would prefer to get taxi's back and how much roughly would a taxi cost? sorry for all the questions just trying to get organized:D

If you are staying at Disney, you won't get much change (if any) from $100 round trip travelling to the Florida Mall. I would recknon about half that travelling to Mall at Millenia.:eek:

If you can drive, but prefer not to and are considering a couple of days serious shopping I would STRONGLY suggest you reconsider the option. Cost wise, getting taxis too and from the MAM from Disney is going to be at least $30 each way, to and from the Florida Mall is going to be close to $50 each way. Driving in the US is REALLY easy and from Disney both are easy to find.

For MAM, you'd take I4 East (sign posted to Orlando) and get off I-4 a couple of exits after Universal, you can see the Mall from I-4 on the right hand side of the road. Getting back take I-4 West ( signposted to Tampa) and take one of the Disney exits.

For FM I'd take Osceola Parkway out of Disney to Orange Blossom Trail then north on OBT until you see FM on your right. If you cross Sand Lake road you've gone too far as the Mall is on the intersection of OBT and Sandlake road.

Getting busses is going to be time consuming ( and a LOAD of hassle with bags), getting a cab is going to be expensive and potentially hassle waiting around for one to turn up. Renting a car for a couple of days is going to save you money on cab fares, and will give you much greater flexibility of movement. Unless there's a reason why you can't drive ( i.e. no licence) I think it's by far the easiest option, and maybe a couple of days would give you the confidence to try driving a little more on future trips.

When we stayed at *** without a car, the taxi to each was about $30 each way plus tip.

I agree with the others get a car for a few days, you will be fine.

I agree a car is essential to get to and throw the shopping malls to see what they all offer, there is loads of great malls there you definately need a car to discover them, maybe consider a car for a couple of days? they are expensive with insurance etc but its worth it in the long run.
Taxis etc are quite costly when venturing around.

Happy Shopping for when you get there.

The Millenia Mall was very nice but I wouldnt buy from there, the prices was steep maybe if I was wanting something it's different we went just to nosy, have a drink, etc and to take it all in,it's a lovely Mall :)

The Florida Mall is nice too, also is the Premuim Outlets they have some decent shops and brands....

There is so much there you have to visit most of them ;) I did LOL!!

:wave: all

thank you for your responces::yes:: i will reconsider my options,dh drives alot at home and keeps telling me he needs to have a break from driving:rolleyes:
the reason i want to go to millenia mall is because i want a tiffany bracelet and i had heard they have a shop in the mall (dh is buying it for my birthday)does anyone know if it would be cheaper to buy there?

thanks eve::MinnieMo

hi, i also want a bracelet from tiffanys, when we looked on both the english and american web sites and compaired prices it was cheaper to buy one in america, from memory!! about twenty to thirty pound cheaper, happy shopping susie

If you get here and you can't find a better way to get there, give me a call. I'll take you to either mall. I spend a lot of time at Millenia. I live about halfway between WDW and Millenia. I am retired (except for my candy baskets that I make), so I have lots of extra time. If you're nervous about a stranger, do a search on Feralpeg on the DIS board. I'm pretty harmless. Seriously, PM me and I will give you my phone number in case you need directions or anything.

thanks susie:D

i thought it would be a bit cheaper to get it over there and now i definatly have a reason to go MM and do some shopping:D

thanks again eve::MinnieMo

When will you be going? I will be going in 3 weeks, car-less ( I don't drive) and am planning on doing some shopping. I'm going to try a taxi to the Premium outlets and take the Lynx bus from there to the Florida Mall. I can let you know how it worked out.

For public transport in Orlando check out www.golynx.com . There are busses from DTD and the parks, but you will probably have to change somewhere. If you like a challenge take a look, they have a pretty nifty planning tool.

I'm sure it all can be done without a car. If you do want to hire a car consider doing it for a day and picking up and dropping off at the Dolphin hotel.

we are going in 5 days time::yes:: so maybe i'll be able to tell you how to get there lol

my dh really is adament that he don't want to drive:rolleyes: so i'll be checking that link and see if i can work out how to get there by bus::yes:: when we were there in 2001 we used the lynx system to go up to i drive and we found it quite easy getting busses,our plan now is to proberbly get there by bus and just taxi back
i am also travelling with my cousin and her family but i'm not sure if they want to go MM yet,i better go now cause i'm starting to ramble on now:D

Have a great time, and let me know how it worked out.

I think I found that you can get the 50 bus from the TTC to Mandarin Drive, and can change there to the 42 for the Florida Mall.

Maybe the bus will be the "thrill ride" of your trip ;)

Have a great time, if you're staying 3 weeks we might bump into each other in the parks! (or the mall !!)
