Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping that someone can help me with a quick question. We're going back to the BCV next month and I always have problems finding the right milk in the US. Does anyone know what the equivalent of semi-skimmed milk is over there? Thanks for your help.

Pretty sure it is the 2% stuff - that is what we get and my dh reckons it tastes the same as semi-skimmed.

Yes it would be the 2% fat milk :) Most of the onsite Disney shops sell it, we got some at the shop on the Boardwalk in 2005.

Claire ;)

Thanks both - just what I needed to know. Sooooo looking forward to going, have been counting down for ages!:yay:

Just be aware that it is in a YELLOW bottle, but tastes just fine!

Enjoy your trip :thumbsup2

It took me a few times of buying 'half and half' before I realised it meant half cream - I just registered the 'half' and assumed it was half fat!

Now we buy either 2% or 1% :)

Yes, I've also fallen foul to the half and half and boy does it taste dreadful in tea! I'll definitely look out for 2% or 1% fat next time - a yellow bottle should make it a lot easier to find in the supermarket! Can't wait to go now, just under 4 weeks and counting......

Anyone know the equivalent of whole mik (full fat) or do they just do half and half?

Never bothered before but this time we will have DD who still likes a beaker of milk in the morning.

Whole milk I believe is labelled up as 4%.

You need to look for 2% Reduced fat milk. It could be in any color container depending on the brand. 2% has 38% less fat than whole milk. There is also 1% milk you can get. Half and Half is used as a creamer for coffee and tea (some baking). So basically there are 3 types of milk: whole, 2% and 1%.

Hi all, Whole Milk should be labeled just as Whole Milk. The others will be labeled 2% Reduced Fat, 1% Reduced Fat and Skim Milk. Not all of our milk is in yellow containers. In the gallon size you'll find them all to be in a plastic jug - either white, yellow or clear (which looks white because of the mil ). In the 1/2 gallon size they will be in either a plastic jug or a carton.

Half-n-Half is mainly used for coffee. I hate it in tea!
