I have an 11 month old that we will be taking to Disney in December at that time she will be 1.5 yrs currently she is very allergic to anything that has any milk in it and throws up really bad if she does get milk. I'm hoping that in the next 7+ months she grows out of it, the ped said most likely she will sooner or later, that most do. But how do I handle food in the world. I know being under 3 she will eat free at the character breakfast with her older sister who will be one month shy of 3 when we go, but I have to be so careful that she doesn't get milk. Do I pack food, request a dairy free diet in general for me so that she can eat some, Help? Also what do I do at counter service? By 1.5 she won't want to eat baby food anymore. I know that for milk we are taking Isomile 2 which is for the second year of life for kids with milk allergies so I don't have to worry about a frige with milk, just add water and shake. Thanks for all your help.

I have a child with a peanut/tree nut allergy, so I understand your concerns. Disney will allow you to bring food into the parks for your daughter if you wish. You should also mention her allergy when making PS for restaurant meals. When you arrive at the restaurant, tell the server that you need to speak to the chef. The chef will come to your table and discuss options for her/your meal.

When we went, I e-mailed Disney World with concerns/questions about counter service and sit-down restaurants. They e-mailed me the phone numbers for food/beverage managers in each park. These people can answer specific questions about food and food preparation in the parks. I don't know if I still have the phone #s. If I do, would you like me to PM you?

Have a great trip. I hope that your daughter outgrows her allergy!

Thank you so much, yes if you have the number please send me a PM I'd love any information you can give. I know the poor little thing won't eat much since she'll only be 1.5 but she will want some table food from my plate, she'll wish she could eat like her sister but she can't, and too little to understand. Thanks for all your help, I worry so much. :(

Don't worry! We just got back with my MIL who was on a gluten-free diet. And my DS is allergic to nuts. Everyone was very accomodating. At counter service - we asked to see the ingredient list - they have one at every counter service place. At sit-downs - make PS's and then note the allergy. The chef will walk a buffet line with you and make up items specially that don't contain the ingredient that must be avoided.

Even though she is 1 - I'm sure they will be just as accomodating - if not more. Disney is a place for kids!

If they are informed - they are very nice. They are used to these types of requests and it was the most stressless eating out my MIL has had since being diagnosed.

Good luck!
