My father is retired military and can get tickets to the parks at a discount. Does he have to be with us to redeem the tickets at the park?

Yes. He must be with you to purchase the tickets as well as purchase one for himself. He must have his retired military ID in order to purchase the tickets. It's a great deal!

I know he has to show ID to purchase them, but he can do that at any base. Does he need to be with us to actually redeem them at the park?

I do not think he has to be with you to redeam them at the park. You can always check at the MWR where you purchase them.

Yes he does. They have changed the rules and require the military ID holder to be at the park to activate the tickets.

Here's what the website states:

"Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets for admission to the Walt Disney World Resort are not valid until activated by the Eligible Services Members (or their spouses) at Walt Disney World theme park ticket windows. Tickets and options expire and may not be used after Sept. 27, 2014. Valid military identification will be required for purchase and use."

Yes, tickets must be activated after purchase at any ticket/box office at any of the 4 WDW parks or DTD.. The military member must be present to activate.

If you are buying them on a base at the MWR office, then he does not have to be with you at Disney. Just double check at the MWR office. I believe people are talking about different types of tickets. The special military ones Disney sells yes the military person has to be there.

The MWR office sells regular Disney passes at a discount and he does not have to be present for you to use those.
