My dad wants to buy us our park hoppers the military ones. Several years ago he did also and we had no trouble using them. Do you know if they ask now for military id or anything at the gates? Would we have any problems? I'd hate for my dad to buy them and we couldn't use them. Thanks!

You are going to purchase them from a military base, right? You won't need an id, as the ticket takers rarely ask for id for anything (I'm not sure they even asked for id on GAD tickets).

Just a head's up, MOST times, the military discount is NOT more than the discount for just purchasing in advance online through Disneyland.com. I have checked our local military base rates for more than a year now, and the specials Disneyland has online have ALWAYS been cheaper. Also, you don't get a Magic Morning with military tickets, so if you were going for three or more days, keep that in mind.

He might just want to look into the prices before purchasing. I'd hate for him to pay more while trying to do you guys a favor!

I wanted to add also, that while they might not check for a military ID, they DO SAY that you need to have one to use the ticket, as they are supposed to be for service members and their guests only, and the service member is supposed to be present. Again, I don't know that they would check, but it is a possibility you should be aware of.

I know if you buy the annual pass though the military you just need one person with a military ID there the first day when you are in Disneyland to take your picture. We've looked into this recently to make sure it was ok and got a email confirmation back from Disneyland saying this is how they do this. (we're going to print the email and bring it with us just in case we have trouble.)

Thanks everyone! It was way cheaper, like $120is for our family's 5 day PH, but to be safe, we better just stick to the non military ones. He bought them for us 2 other times and we never had problems, but that was years ago, it's just not worth it, just in case :)

I'm glad I read this, I was going to get military passes as well. It was going to save us around $140, but I wouldn't have a military member with me at the parks. It's not worth the risk and stress though..:sad2:
