Military tickets/Staying at RP/Newbie ??

So my youngest is a HP addict and part of the Christmas Disney surprise will be taking him to Universal.

We check out of Disney on Dec 26th, checking in to Springhill that night.

My plan (let me know if this works)
Get up early Dec 27th , head over and check in to Royal Pacific (around 7AM) so we can get in to Harry Potter world early that day and also take advantage of the hotel FOTL stuff.

My question is, if we buy the tickets at the military base, will that cause a problem with us doing any of this???? I don't want to pay full price for the tickets, the room is pricey enough! Can we "check in" that early???

We are only going to stay at Universal for that one night, but it is my understanding that we can still use FOTL on the 28th? I do want to go to both parks and it looks like we will need two days to do so.

It is my understanding that the early entry and express passes are tied in with the resort and not a ticket/room package. That said, the express pass doesn't work in the HP areas, but it does with many of the other rides!

And, believe me, you aren't the only one who is planning their vacation. 6 or more months in advance! I a planning ours and we have a good 9 months to go!

Just make sure your two day tickets say park to park access in order to ride the Hogwarts Express ride in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

But I am good to check in super early and use the early admission that day, even if checkin isn't really until 4pm for the hotel??

yes.

check in early, store your luggage with bell services, create your express pass at the hotel and head for the parks.


i have checked in early before.
a bit before 5:30 am on a few trips.
