Military Tickets...anyone use them?

Hello. I just found information about military tickets available to retired or active military personnel. I was thrilled as my grandmother (who is 94 years old!) has a military ID and access to the local base and can purchase 6 3-day hopper tickets for our trip, only $99 each ticket. However, I then read that the person who purchased the tickets has to be present at the time of use at Disneyland, but she is not going with us

Has anyone used these tickets before without your military connection with you at Disneyland? I assume they check IDs? The most frustrating part for me is that my step-dad, who will be with us, WAS in the US military and served during Vietnam but for some reason he is not eligible for base-privileges or a military ID

We just used tickets purchased from an Airbase and while we have military ID's, Disney did not ask to see them when we used the tickets. The tickets that they gave us were just like tickets purchased online. Just printed on 11x8.5 inch paper that you present at the gate. The CM there exchanges them for the regular cardboard tickets and you are on your way. That is if your base gives you the same type ticket. Hopefully this helps.

There is another thread about this going already.....and yes - it does sound like the military member has to be with you at the gates at first use. Maybe these $99 tickets have different rules than the regular park hopper passes you can buy on base. We have always used Military passes for Disneyland and have always been asked to show ID upon the first entry day (9 trips to date). As long as one person has an ID you are okay.
