Military ticket

Can my father in law purchase tickets for me through his base and give them to me as a gift. I have read somewhere indicating Disney has the right to refuse use of these tickets, is this the case?

Mh Dad is now retired, but prior to his retirement he looked into the ticket prices for me.

At that time, this was two years ago, he could buy the tickets and give them to me. We were even talking about getting on base with him, and going to the ticket office with him, and buying them there!

We did find out that other ticket outlets were about the same price (give or take a dollar) so it wasn't worth it for us.

I don't know how long you are going or what kind of tixs you are wanting but I just bought 4 day php with no extras on it for $202/each from our military ticket office. If your FIL is going with you to disney, you can buy passes at the SOG resort that allows you to get into everything disney for the number of days you are there or less, but unlike regular php these tixs from SOG do expire. The tickets are supposed to have a military designation and require 50% of the party passing thru the gate to have military id's.

Now supposed to and really do could be 2 different things. I'd ask him to see the tickets/vouchers before he purchases them and see what it actually says.

Keep in mind that not everyone who rates buying tickets at SOG has a military ID. DOD civilians also rate buying tickets at SOG with their government issued civilian ID .

The only place I EVER had a problem with military issues tickets was at (of all places) Hershey Park. Even though I have a military ID as a spouse, Hershey wouldn't let me in with my 5 kids. My husband was on base nearby and he actually had to come over and show them his ID - I was furious as was he. This is just crazy.

When we go to WDW we get annual passes at SOG and no one ever asks to see our ID at disney. In fact, I have looked to see what the CM sees when we enter and it does code them as Military on the opposite side of the entrance turnstyle.

The only requirement for these tickets is that you have the ID to purchase them - anyone can use them - you can give them as gifts.

I bought my tickets from our ITT office on base. But when I inquired about buying my family (non military sister and her children) she said she would sell them to me but they are non refundable. And if at the the gate it is questioned then she wasnt sure what Disney would do. Basically she told me Disney could not accept them with out proper Military or DOD Id and she was not responsible for whatever happened) So I dont really know if that is good or bad.

My tickets do say Military PHP on them on the back as I just went and checked.

Disney doesn't do anything at the gate. The only place they ever question anything is at guest relations when you ask to buy tickets on active duty - they once gave free ones during 9-11.
They let anyone with a valid ticket in - trust me. I know.

As long as you have paid - you will get in without any id.

We have bought tickets at SOG. The last time we went we traveled with 3 other families. My DH showed his ID and we were never asked for it again. The others in our group bought tickets at the same time and had no problems at the parks.
This time we are checking into buying tickets on base if the price is the same.

We just bought 5 day hopper for $227 (ad), and $185 (ch). on our post.
We have bought tickets for family traveling with us. SOG website says that if you have a military ID, you can purchase tickets for upto 5 family members traveling with you.
