military ticket question

Not sure where this question belongs as I haven't been on the forums in a long time, so sorry if this isn't the correct place. I was just looking for information on military discount tickets. Is it possible to purchase tickets at the parks when you arrive and be able to get the discount?

We can sell the Salute promotional tickets at the gate but we have to charge tax.

If you're looking for the discounted tickets other than the Salute, or you'd rather not pay us the tax, you can go to Shades of Green and buy tickets there.

In the past we have always bought them from the MWR. You can get them at Shades of Green also. I believe the MWR was a little less the SOG last time we bought the salute tickets.

MWR is the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation center on your base. This way you can purchase your tickets before you even get to Disney which allows you to make fast pass reservations. Your First Shirt, Sponsor, or Supervisor should be able to direct you where to go.

If you contact Shades of Green, they will email you a current list. ITT is where we buy our tickets on our base, maybe it's called differently for your branch? MWR/ITT does not charge taxes, on top of having special discounts. I would start there!

Even with the tax, it's still a fabulous deal. I've had to purchase The Armed Forces Salute Tickets at the gate a couple of times and had no problems.

I would recommend purchasing them at Shades of Green when you get down there. Its close enough to the MK that it won't be out of your way to go by there.

You can order from Shades of Green over the phone, that way you can load them into MDE and book fastpasses at 30 days out, 60 if you stay on Disney property (Shades is not "Disney" property)
