Okay, I have searched and have not found an answer to this specific question regarding the current Military Ticket promotion of $99 for a 4 day ticket. My Stepfather, who is retired military, and my mother are meeting my husband and I for a WDW vacation in September. We have planned an eight day vacation. I am trying to find the best way for them to get their tickets and didn't know if they could buy 2 of the promotional tickets apiece (for a total of 4 tickets) and use one 4 day ticket for the first 4 days, then the second ticket for the next 4 days. I know that the military member can buy up to 6 tickets, but do they have to be for 6 different people or can they use 4 tickets for two people so they can have an eight day vacation? I know that the tickets have their names printed on them, but I couldn't find any rule about the same person having more than one ticket.
Confused yet?

I am sooo hoping someone has the answer to this.

I am just going to get my tickets at Shades of Green the night I arrive. I have heard you can buy two of the salute tickets for the same person to use. I would call SOG directly and ask.

Thanks, I didn't think of calling SOG. They are driving and arriving before us. I think they would just get the tickets/vouchers from the local base and activate them at guest relations.

The Armed Forces Salute 2010 Tickets must be purchased no later than July 31, 2010. Effective August 1 they will not be available for purchase.

Once purchased, they may be activated and used up to September 30. On October 1, all remaining entitlements are void, even if the ticket has not been used and the ticket will have no value.

The service member may purchase up to six tickets. I have heard of people using two tickets to cover eight days so that is not a problem.

I was hoping you would see this post and reply. Thank you.

Thanks for the reminder of the purchase end date. I will have them purchase them before that. Our vacation dates are 9/22-9/30/10, so we are all set that way.

Is it correct that the vouchers can be activated at any guest relations at any park entrance? We are staying at AKL and AK would be most convenient for them to get this done before we arrive.

We activated our military tickets last week at the DHS Will Call window. We had bought them at SoG and also had GAD vouchers to redeem. I don't know if that is where they normally do it, but they did them there. The only wierd thing is it printed actual new tickets. (The military passes are plastic credit card type things and it spit out new paper ones when they activated. They weren't sure why, but we had to use the paper ones. Don't hold up as well on those water rides, lol.)

Thank you! Hope you had a great time!

Thanks for posting this question. I had the same one.

Also, I read on another website that as of late April 2010, the deadline for purchasing them was extended through August 2010. Hope that helps!

i am going in a few days and I called SOG and this is what they told me

option 1: buy tickets at SOG (all 4 tickets for 2 people) then activate first 2 on the first day, active 2nd set on 5th day

option 2: buy tickets at any disney ticket window (only buy 2 on first day, buy 2nd set on 5th day)

because if you buy them at the disney ticket window they activate them ont he spot so all 4 would be worthless after the 4th day if you bought all at once

That's wrong! They tickets are good until 9/30, no matter when activated. No need to keep going back-just buy all at once and activate all at once. You'll be fine!:)

I believe if you buy them at a disney ticket window you're going to have to pay tax on the tickets and if you buy them at SOG you won't have to pay tax...

yea true but from my understanding unless you have a car it can be hard to get to sog.. im staying at a disney resort so ima just buy at the window and pay the tax

I don't know what website you are referring to, but the internal ticketing information we have still says that sales will be allowed only through July 31,

Not correct. The tickets are valid through September 30, 2010 whether or not they are activated. You can use one day each in May, June, July and August.

so If I bought both tickets on weds (im there for 8 days starting weds) they won't expire? odd the person i talked to at SOG made a big deal that I shouldn't active both of them so should only buy 2 at a time

From what I understand, each ticket is good for 4 days and will not expire until the end of September. You should be able to buy all 4 tickets at the same time, activate them, and they would be good thru 9/30. Even if you only used one day per ticket per month to add up to the 4 days each ticket.

Thank you everyone for your input.

Unfortunately, the folks at SoG are not the authority on this subject. Sorry you received incorrect information.

FYI--if you really want to save the tax $ on the tickets, get to the Poly(take monorail from MK), then walk across the street and over to SoG. IMO, since time is money on vacation at WDW, I would just pay the sales tax. However, you have the option.

yea I was wondering how to get to sog and most people said i'd have to catch a cab to get there, but true could take the monorail, but yea time is money, and 550 vs what 600? (don't know the flordia taxes) not much of a difference

I pulled this info off of the Military Salute Ticket info link....
During this offer period, active or retired U.S. military personnel may make a one-time purchase of up to a maximum of five 4-Day companion tickets (one theme park per day) for $99 per ticket, for family members (including spouse) or friends. Although this ticket for family members and friends does not include either the Park Hopper or Water Park Fun & More options, this ticket can be upgraded to add either such option, or both, for an additional $25, per option. All tickets and options are non-transferable and must be activated by September 26, 2010. Block out dates 3/27- 4/9/2010 All locations. 7/3-4/2010 Magic Kingdom only. Tickets available for purchase at Shades of Green beginning January 3, 2010. Tickets expire September 30, 2010.

* A program extension from July 31, 2010 to August 31, 2010 was announced in late April 2010.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope they extend this offer out until the end of the year instead of ending on Sept. 30th, it will save me a couple hundred dollars in having to buy an extra 2 day Park Hopper pass for each of us to cover the last two days of our 6 day stay.

Two items

1. Please provide a link to the info link that you refer to. For the 2010 promotion there is no such thing as a "Companion" ticket.

2. Please provide link where the program extension was announced. I work in ticket sales and have checked all my online resources and everything still shows that sales will stop July 31.

I also called my ITT office on base and they verified this information for me.
