Military Ticket Activation

Hey all! Apologies if this has been asked before, but with the military salute tickets in the fine print on the Disney website it says:

• Disney Military Salute Tickets are not valid until activated by the Eligible Service Member (or their spouse) at a Walt Disney World Resort theme park ticket window.

I’ve used these tickets countless times in the past, but this is the first time in a few years and I can’t for the life of me remember how this works (major Mom brain, I’m on my third pregnancy in as many years and have a 2 and a 1 year old so my brain is mush!) Do I have to go to the ticket window before entering my first park of the vaca? We are buying my in-laws tickets and they wanted to go to a park on arrival day but we don’t want to. Now I’m thinking we will have to go with them to activate the tickets even if we aren’t entering the parks.

Also if the in-laws want a 5 day ticket and we only want 4 day tickets, is it even possible to order different length tickets? Or do we all need the same ones?

We got the Military Salute Tickets last year. Yes, the military member or spouse has to be there to activate the tickets. We go to the Disney Ticket Center in Disney Springs to activate the tickets. We usually do it the day before a park day. Once that's done, they can go to the parks without you.

The Disney Ticket Center is located in Town Center near the Disney Springs Welcome Center, D-Luxe Burger and Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza.

This is so good to know! We could swing a trip to Disney Springs together as a group and my in-laws can go to a park from there and my family can get dinner.

Someone smarter than me can confirm, but if you buy the tickets from Shades of Green, for instance, they have always been activated at point of purchase. Is this not still the case? It has been a couple years since we did this.

We only purchase our military tickets from Shades Of Green and they are already activated.

I ordered them from Shades of Green, it would be so convenient if they were already activated! I can’t for the life of me remember though lol I will ask them when they call to complete the ticket order. Thanks!

We only purchase our military tickets from Shades Of Green and they are already activated.
