I’m so sorry I don’t have time to search. We just decided to go to Disney Aug 24. Im an Ap holder. But no one else In the party has tickets yet. Just found out someone else in the party wants to that is active military but won’t be joining us until aug 26. Can he get everyone’s ticket(5 tickets) and have them mailed? Would they be able to get in b4 he arrives? Also is 3 weeks enough time to order tickets and receive them? Thanks

You could be cutting it close. He has to order them from SoG in order for them to be already activated. I'm pretty sure they will only mail them to him, so how would he get them to the rest of your party? Have him call SoG ticketing to see what they say. If he orders them TODAY, he should have them before the 24th as they do FedX them and HE has to sign for them, so now I'm 99% certain they won't mail them elsewhere.

Now there have been reports of people asking SoG for the ticket numbers so they could go ahead and attach them to MDE. You're within the 30 day FP+, so they should do that. If they'll do that, then the rest of your party would have their tickets ready as long as you have Magic Bands to go with them.

If the service member is not there from the beginning, PLESASE don't use them - and they are techinally only for immediate family - not to give away to friends and family - AND they can only get 6 and the service member MUST be one to use them

PLEASE don't missuse our beneifits - if they continue to be abbused, they will take them away

This is not always true. There are times when they will send you the ticket number on the back so you can make fast passes. However, sometimes they are already activated but I have had times, quite a few times, when I was asked for my military ID before they would activate them. I have been stopped at the gate because my magicband did not work. I then had to go to guest relations, show my ID and the voucher before my family and I were let in. It is very hit or miss.

The service member must be with you to activate them.
That’s why I’m asking about having them mailed. It’s my understanding that they are already activated when they are mailed? As apposed to picking up at guest service

I’m sorry I mis worded this when I say friend it’s my son in laws brother who is going . They wouldn’t be misused. Just wondering if they could get in a day or 2 earlier.

No - the service member has to be there

No, it is not just for immediate family. That has never been the case. Disney's wording on the offer says nothing of the sort. All it says is "up to six tickets may be purchased during the offer period." We have used them for friends and extended family since the program began. The only specific language related to immediate families is the fact that you can buy more than 6 tickets IF you have more than 5 military dependents. So, a family of 7 or 8 could buy enough for all of them.

They also have never enforced the "one ticket has to be used by the active duty member" part of it. I am a dependent spouse and have gone some years where I went to WDW twice and took either my kids or friends, using up all six tickets, and every year at DL (where we have APs), we buy 4 tickets for my sister, her husband, and 2 kids, one for my best friend, and one for my MIL. We usually buy them at Disneyland directly and have never had an issue.

OP: If the tickets are ordered from SoG VERY SOON, it will be fine. Like, have him call them TODAY. They have to send him an email with some forms attached, which he has to email back (he will need a scanner) and then they will call him for his credit card number. This process can take a few days, but once they get his payment, they FedEx the tickets so he will have them quickly. They do charge $10 for shipping. He can then mail out the tickets to individuals, or to one of you, to distribute to the group on day one.

I am a dependant spouse as well - and when I purchased them through Leisure Travel, I had to sign that the solider would be using one of the tickets and that they would only be used by immediate family, and that they would not be sold for profit - so it looks like they are cracking down on it - this was Fall of 2018

I'm going through the process now. I will say that SoG, right now, hasn't been the fastest. Took me about 2 weeks to complete my order for MVMCP tickets. You are cutting it close.

When they FEDEX'd to us, there had to be a signature. They won't just drop them somewhere. AND the person who was buying them had to be the signature or there was some other instructions if they couldn't be. This just happened about 10 days ago which was pretty recent.

Otherwise, it's my understanding that the SoG purchased tickets are activated (which is the reason I'm using them this year versus my local MWR) and he wouldn't have to be with you for the first part of the trip.

If the service member is coming later, would he be getting a shorter duration ticket (4 day versus 5 day)? The order form does as for the names of people on the tickets.

I've recently bought through SoG and my local MWR within the year and I've never had to sign anything like that.

It wouldnt' SHOCK me that that soliders have been purchasing and reselling the tickets - it could be something specific to our instilation and they might roll it out at others later on

This is per Disney's website

Important Details
  • Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased at participating U.S. military sales outlets by Eligible Service Members (defined below) or their spouses (but not both), for use by themselves and family members and friends, as provided herein. These Tickets may not be otherwise transferred, distributed or resold.

My husband is active military and I purchased two from the base over the phone and they were mailed to our house. You can link them for fast passes but they are not activated.

(1) and (3) are correct. They do make an exception in the case of (1) for AP holders, but then they are supposed to be limited to 5 others instead of 6.

(2) is absolutely NOT correct, as indicated by @WiWe's post. Disney does not care who the service member allows to use the tickets.

Tickets purchased from Shades of Green do come activated, but they also come with a disclaimer that Disney could request proof of eligibility at any time. Chances of that happening are slim, but the possibility is there. That would be both embarrassing and potentially expensive if those in the group who are using the tickets before the service member's arrival have to pay the difference between salute and regular prices to be able to use the tickets, since they have no proof of eligibility.

Shades of Green will only send a scan of the ticket numbers via email if the guests are registered to stay at SoG. Otherwise, they FedEx the physical tickets. We have used these the past two years, after years of using the exchange certificates from our base ITT. We like not having to take the time to activate the tickets when we arrive.

One of the tickets must be for the Military member OR DOD dependent ID issued spouse. The sponsor does not have to go/be present to be sold or activated if their spouse is.

You ordered them from SoG and SoG didn't ask for your id when u ordered them? that seems crazy... anytime we've ordered from SoG we have to send copy of id and then tix are activated and ready to go. I didn't know SoG could even processan order without an id.

I did have to send ID. They still did not activate the tickets and it’s been more than once.

We just ordered our tickets for the regular parks and did a separate order for the Halloween party. We didn’t send copies of my husband’s ID but the order form you had to put his DOD number on there. We are also staying there but I’m not sure if it’s a different form. The emailed me a copy of the back of the tickets and the actual tickets will be at the front desk. I was able to use the copy of the backs to enter them into MDE.

It did take a few days after I messaged them for someone to call me. They emailed the copy the same day they called.
