From time to time, people ask whether or not these tickets can be purchased from the ticket booths. We were at the parks yesterday, and I wanted to report that we had no trouble buying the tickets. It's crazy that a 3-day Military park hopper ticket costs less than a single-day park hopper, isn't it? I mean...crazy in a good way :-) The only time my family was asked for military ID was when the tickets were purchased. Their names were printed on the tickets, and their pictures were taken upon first use.

Hope this helps.

I still get mad at my husband for not staying the full 20 years in the Navy..!! for the Military tickets.. lol

My DF has been in the CG for 10 years. I am begging him to stay in for his full 20 just for benefits like these. But with all the lovely politics this past week, who knows what we will eventually do. We did get the military salute tickets a month ago and they worked perfectly! I think we might get them again when we go in early August. They were really worth it.

What is even more crazy is the rate for a view room with military rate. I called in jan when my dad said he would go. I reserved a room at dlh for $233, with fees and taxes included. I paid and got my confirmation, for the five nights we are there. Since then dad has decided not to go until aug. Sso I waited until ap rates came out. Well we have to cancel it. PPH with no tax or fees add is $280 for standard. DLH is $365 for standard, or for the same room view $400 and then you have to add fees and taxes, which will come out to over $450 or more, a savings of over $220 a night just on the room. And people ask us all the time why we go to Disney so much, that would have been a saving of more than $2000, just because he served his country. At WDW we save even more.

And yes Disneyland does sell the tickets, they don't like to and in Florida they don't anymore is my understanding, but in Disneyland they do because there is not a base for all people and unlike WDW that has shades of green. The base for us is over 400 miles away so we always get them when we go to DL at the ticket booth.

Just an FYI -- I just learned that these tickets are blocked from 3/29 - 4/9. I was really surprised by this, as our Deluxe APs are *not* blocked.

My MIL was here at the end of February, and used 1 day of her ticket. She is coming back for Spring Break, and we planned to use another day then. I figured that if my AP wasn't blocked, certainly her ticket wouldn't be blocked. But I was wrong. So bummed, as we had booked Fantasmic dining for DS's 7th birthday (he's a HUGE F!) fan.

So bummed :-(

Tickets expire 13 days after first use, so her ticket has likely expired.

It

It doesn't say that in the fine print on the Disney site. Where did you read that?

Holy cow, I just looked at my military salute ticket from Feb 2015, and it doesn't mention anything about the 13-day rule! I thought every ticket had the 13-day rule! I'm, quite honestly, shocked that its not on there any longer!

Now I just wish it weren't blocked!

At least for WDW, the military salute tx do not have the 14 day expiration rule. Unused days are valid for the length of the Salute program(which is usually annual..apx dates being Oct 1- Sept 30). I assume DLR is the same in this regard, so the remaining days would be valid through Sept 2015.
