Military Salute Tickets Disney

The T/A is wrong on this point. You cannot add days. Period.

I was working the ThemeParks board when this promotion was released. Upgrading the tickets was a major question.

They *can* be upgraded, but you lose all military savings in doing it.. basically.. they'll refund what you paid for the military ticket and allow you to pay full price for the longer ticket you want. But that's no deal....

So really, they can't be upgraded to add days for a small fee .. and if you lose all the savings of the offer, then they aren't really "upgradeable" at all.

I know that now I am straight. I read the tickets when I got them, did a little research in the DIS and elsewhere, and really assumed that no upgrades would be allowed. The TA is wrong! I'm glad you chimed in because your posts answering questions that anyone asks here always have the straight scoop! :thumbsup2

I have a question. My DH and dad both work for DOD and DH also was in the Navy but is no longer active duty and I know that we are not able to get these tickets. I have a friend that her DH is active and might join us but only for the first couple of days. Is it possible for her to come get all of us tickets and leave after the couple of days and have the rest of us use the remaining days on our tickets or does the active person have to be there the entire time? Thanks

The military ID holder only needs to be present during the initial activation and never again for any future use...

We were there in January and used only 2 tix for friends but ended up passing for ourselves b/c we stayed 8 days. Now we're planning on going back in Nov for 5 days and wonder if we can purchase the rest.

Anyone know if tix can be purchased by the military personnel AND the spouse separately as long as the spouse has ID?

I talked to our ITT office on base yesterday about the tickets (we're at a large AFB in the mid-west). She said here they add a $10 surcharge/fee per ticket, plus they need 2 weeks notice to order them. She recommended just buying them at SOG when we got there, even if we're not staying at the resort.

Amazing how each local office is different. At FT Bragg - ours were even cheaper - $95 instead of $99 with no surcharge and they were instock
