So my husband and I are looking to plan our next trip. We will have his mom joining us since she has never been. Am I able to book two rooms under the military rates? We want to be able to give her her own room since we will also have our kids.
Yes, I believe it's up to 3 rooms, but it may be more. We booked 3 rooms under the military rate a few years ago with no problem. Be sure to have your military id when you check in. -They say they check them, although they never asked me for mine, but I'd def. take it just to be sure.
Only once have we had to show ID's for checking in, but I think that was for Florida resident when we were still living in Florida. Our last trip we didn't. But thanks for the info, great to be able to get my MIL a discount on her room too.
She can pay. I just did this myself with my friend in September.
I booked the reservations (2 rooms with DDP) Put one room under my name and one under his name. He paid his own package my husband just had to show ID when he checked in. (actually I think I might have shown my ID when he checked in)
This has not been our experience at all. My mom comes with us every year and stays in her own room, which she pays for, at the military rate, even though she would be ineligible on her own. I do usually put the deposit on my card and she pays me back, but just because it's easier for us than her calling back in to give her own credit card info for the deposit. Once we get there, she gives them her credit card, and the remaining room balance and any other charges go directly to her.

Ok, my problem is this-it's my brother in law who's military but my dad is paying for the trip. Do we just do the deposit in BILs name and then when we check in my dad pays the balance?

Yes.... That would work as long as your brother-in-law is on the trip too. Someone has to show military ID at check in. They don't really care who is paying... As long as someone eligible is actually staying there. You can even have your Dad pay the deposit if you want.
