Military / Florida Resident Discount Questions

Hi all,

I have some questions about military and Florida resident discounts for a DCL booking as my husband is active duty (soon to be retired) military and I am a Florida resident.

We are looking into booking the Eastern Caribbean 7-day Jan 28th or May 22nd sailing. I have been on and off Disney's website trying to utilize either discount but am only finding sporadic sailings for FL resident, and only sailings between now and December for the military discount.

My questions/concerns are:

1) Is the military discount only offered for immediate upcoming sailings (meaning hopefully as Jan gets closer we'd see some offers pop up?)

2) Has anyone had any luck with discounts being honored for your sailing of choice even though the offer wasn't listed on the website? (Highly doubt it, but wanted to ask in case.)

3) Does using a discount limit your chances for a verandah room?

3) Do room prices go up the longer you wait to book? I'm concerned if I wait while trying to take advantage of either discount that we would be looking at a steeper price, which we're trying to avoid.

Both the military offers and Florida resident offers are date-specific, not necessarily available on any/all sailings. I also believe they are specific to stateroom categories as well. You can watch the website for new offers to be released, typically after the PIF date for any given cruise -- which is going to be within just 2-3 months out. If you really want to plan ahead for a specific cruise date, it's recommended to book as far in advance for the best fares. A special offer may or may not be offered for that date. I believe if an FLR offer is released for a date it can be applied to a current reservation; MTO offers require cancellation and re-booking as new, though sometimes the discount is great enough to warrant the cancellation penalty. Of course, those rules are subject to change.
