hey guys.. i know someone can help me :) we are planning our disney trip for aug 2010. we are aware of the heros .. 4 day 99 dollar deal..
i was wondering... if the 40 percent off that is being offered to military and the dining deal can be combined?

we are planning. 6 adults. and 5 kids . and 2 infants ...

shades of green is looking good.

thanks in advance

Yes the 40 percent off must be booked by 7/31 and your stay has to occur no later than 9/30.

The dining plan can be added to your reservation.

I have already modified 3 previous reservations and got the lower rates.

Where did you find the military discount for dining. I have been looking but have been unable to find it.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

I am curious as to where you got the discount info for dining. I just called yesterday to modify our reservation and they told me there was no discount for dining for military.

would love to know about this for my friend as well--the dining discount.

We booked yesterday using the 40% off room rate and added the discount dining plan for military. Our confirmation lists it as military dine. We are staying at Coronado Springs. We initially wanted French Quarter but there was no availability using the discounts. The code listed on our reservation is OUS. This is also found on mousesavers.com.

I just called and was able to knock off $180 for our upcoming stay in May.:cool1: I asked about the dining discount for military and was told that it hadn't been released yet but to keep watching for it.

Now I'm thinking about adding an extra night :thumbsup2

I would call again and talk to a different CM regarding the dining. We booked the military dine yesterday. The code for this deal is OUS. The CM was the one who told me about the discounted dining and then I read it on www.mousesavers.com as well.

You can add dining to your 40% off room, thus making it a package without buying tickets thru WDW. However, the dining plan is at full price. For us, we save $2300 by using the 40% off. We may or may not add dining, but can add it at the regular price up to 10 days before our trip. Also, we probably won't be able to use the $99 as our trip is 9 park days--not sure whether we'll get tickets through another discount place or just get them added to our package.

You could still get the 99 deal........ spread the park days out with the 4 water park days......

Not enough days for me--I thought of that, but no way I'd have enough park time that way. Thanks! I really don't mind paying full price for tickets--I did get 40% off our room.

Definitely call again. The deal was announced on the 3rd. It is posted on there website as well. I booked ours on the 3rd. I originally had the room with a one day ticket and the QSDP. Changed to the room and QSRP and save $1000. It would be well worth the call. I want to thank BridgetBordeaux..it was her post that alerted me to the codes.

I have a question about the discounted pass. We are going with my father in March and he is retired from the Airforce. If he purchases the pass for us, can we save it to use on our Sept. trip when he will not be with us? We were only planning one day in March so we wouldnt need the whole 4 day ticket. Our trip in Sept is for one week so it would be good for that trip. Thanks.

No, the military member must be with you to activate your ticket at the theme park window. Sorry, hope this helps.

Thanks. I was just reading another thread on this promotion and that thread seemed to think that as long as the military member activated the tickets, they could be used at anytime without the military member present. Also, it sounded like these tickets which are 4 day base tickets, could be used on different trips. They dont expire within so many days of first use as other tickets? If this is true, we could use one day of this pass in March and then the other 3 days in September? All days expire 9/30/10.

My family and I are already booked on a package to WDW for May, but my sister (who is married to an active duty soldier) will be joining us there. The AFS tix will be great for her, and might make sense for us to buy some of the $99 passes for a return trip (but she would be unlikely to be able to return with us as they are stationed in Korea).

If she's with us in May to "activate" the tickets (with her military ID), can we just hold onto them and then return to WDW before 9/30 to use them without restriction?

On a related note -- any advice on the best accommodations for a short (2-3 night) stay for a military spouse? Looks like the military discounts that are being offered are probably better than the rates that SoG offers, so is there any real reason to stay at SoG when you could get a moderate instead??

Thanks!
ETA--Activation just makes them a usable ticket. You don't have to enter a park to activate. If she has an id, she can indeed purchase and activate these tickets for you. Once they're activated, you won't need her with you to use them. As long as you use them by 9/30 you should be ok.

Okay, I called back and added the Quick Service dining plan. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or not. I don't think I could get my kids to sit through table service everyday. I did add the extra night. So for 6 nights with quick service dp it cost $1077.72. Does that seem like a good deal?
