Hi. Anyone know the military discount WDW is offering? Is it only on tix, or do they other discounts too?

Also, we have a family member who is in the military. If we go with him on our WDW trip, can we all get the same discount as long as he is with us when we buy the tickets?

The room discount through 9/30/11 is 30% off Values, 35% off Moderates, 40% off Deluxes.

No. Anyone using a military discount ticket must also show a valid military id when activating the ticket. Disney is very strict about enforcing this rule.

This isn't exactly the case. If purchasing the Salute tickets, the military member (or spouse) would need to present an ID but can buy the remaining five tickets for friends/family.

If buying general military discount tickets (from MWR or SoG), again, the purchaser would show ID and could buy tickets for the group.

We've had experience with both options over the last few trips.

We're also using the military room discount this year. We're staying TPV CL at the Poly for 40% off rack.

Do past offerings show any indication that the military hotel discount will be extended beyond September 30th, 2011. Hubbs deploys in November and October is their blocked leave dates. I don't know if his leave would get approved for September to take advantage of the discount.

Welcome to the boards! :welcome:

These offers have only surfaced recently because of the poor economy.

These past couple of years they have also been getting less generous.

I don't think the chances are strong that Oct/Nov/Dec will be covered.

Ugg. I took advantage of the discount and free tickets for two trips in 2009. We went to Peru last year, so I didn't follow the military discounts.

I agree. I don't think the Military Salute will be extended to Oct/Nov/Dec. Whether a new offer will come out for 2012 is anyone's guess. I imagine it will depend on how strong bookings are for 2012.

We are also military and usually use the military discount. I am in agreement about the poor economy. We have received 6 pin codes in the last 5 weeks. About one a week! The last being the free dining pin. I have never had 6 pins in the last 20 yrs that we have been going to Disney, let alone the last month or so. :confused3

I'm surprised we haven't received any PINs this year as much as I have been on the phone with Disney! But we are passholders and their changes to free dining have made it no longer a good deal for us. :sad1:

We are going for one night next week to CBR with dining (military) for $333, 3 adults and 1 child on the dining.

I have never gotten a pin code and we travel to WDW every 12-18 months. I want a pin code!! :rotfl: We are getting the discounted park tickets for our trip next month. When we decided to go the room discount was not available so we rented DVC points at BLT instead.

Seriously, I want to know how people get pin codes.
