Military discount tickets

Hi. I posted this in the ticket sticky and read through a lot of posts but don't see the information I need.

I have a question about military tickets. We are taking a couple friends of my daughters' with us. One of the girls has a dad in the military and mom is former military. I need to get tickets for them and read about the military discount tickets. The website says that they are for use of the military and their family/friends.

This is listed on the Disney website for tickets-

• Subject to certain exceptions, Disney 4-Day/5-Day Military Promotional Tickets for admission to the Walt Disney World Resort are not valid until activated by the Eligible Services Members (or their spouses) at Walt Disney World theme park ticket windows.

So I wonder if traveling with us bc the parents can't go is an exception.


So...
If the mom or dad purchases the ticket on base can the child use it with her military id at the parks without having mom or dad there?

Could the mom or dad purchases 2 tickets- one for their daughter and one for her friend?

To the best of my knowledge, I believe one of the tickets must be for the military member or spouse. The tickets cannot be activated without the military member or their spouse being part of the party.

If the parents purchase them from Shades of Green, they provide proof of their military status when they purchase the tickets and the tickets arrive already activated. Then the kids can use them. Yes the military member can purchase tickets for their children. (Parent can purchase in advance from Shades and have them mailed to their home)

If they have them mailed to their home does the parent still need to be at the gate the first day?

Right now, they don't. SoG tickets arrive fully activated, so they SHOULD be okay. However, with the two girls being the ones using them, there could be a problem at the gate if the CM notices that the girls are the only ones using military salute tickets.
