Well, the word from DCL is that as long as I make the changes before my final payment, it should be easy to drop my MIL from our existing reservation and replace it with my husbands. He will be removed from my room, in name only. Like you all have said, we can all sleep where we want to, this is only for reservation purposes. The room rate will remain the same in the cabin where my MIL was, but my cabin will be reduced by one fare.
Now, my MIL is going through her own travel agent to try and bunk with her nephew now, and there shouldn't be any problem canceling his mother and booking in his room. We have yet to find out if she will have a fare increase. My travel agent said there might be since they booked early and will treat the name change as a cancellation therefore applying the fare to date. I will wait to change my reservations until my MIL has for sure transferred to her nephew's room. Now I am just waiting to hear what her travel agent said.
