We got a phone call on Saturday from my SIL that my MIL is back in the hospital.. (this time a new one) for yet more blood clots..
They found 6 of them in her other leg. So that matches the other leg, and the few in her lungs.
Today, this hospital , is going to do an "umbrella" so to prevent more clots.
Due to this, she is missing her 2nd opinion with the cancer center regarding the lung cancer.
This hospital is in another state, (in Philly!), so my DH is going to visit her after work. (this hospital isn't far from his work!)
She was just released from the first hospital stay 8/28, and on Saturday, she was yet readmitted but to another hospital.

Afternoon/evening update
Well, my DH called his mom in the morning thinking the surgery happened early AM.. well, it wasn't until 3 pm, and she wouldn't be out until after 7 pm.
He couldn't get to the hospital before she went in for surgery, but he talked to her at length, and is going to see her tomorrow after work.
He knew she would be sleeping off the anetheseisa (spelling?) and she wanted him to come by tomorrow.
An RN that my DH works with says this "umbrella" is an effective way to reduce the clots.
Ironically, the clots and cancer are in the same lung.. so my MIL was joking about that with my DH!
She still sounded fiesty,so that was good. I talked to her yesterday, and all she could do was apologize for not sending my daughter a birthday card... I told her when she gets out she can tell her personally.
