Tomorrow is my ADR call in day for my solo trip at the end of April. I am only calling for one thing. I want a Cobb Salad from HBD, so I am booking lunch there. I have been craving one of those darn salads since I last had one last April. Basically, I am not trusting my craving to the availability of a walk-up. I thought I was going to get one last month, but plans changed and we couldn't go. I have several potential park touring options but Tuesday always seems to be put down as the DHS day no matter what permutation of hopping/not hopping, EMH/no EMH, TL/DQ that I could come up with as "educated" choices for the day's entertainment offerings.

So, are you happy? I won't have a set itinerary. I am going to go with the flow of it. I have lots of good options for each day and will be able to just do my own thing with no worries. I will only have one ADR. I will be flying by the seat of my pants 98% of the time.

Is this foot loose and fancy free enough? :rotfl:

Mike may be happy, but I think I may need to go to the ER! You are giving me chest pain! :scared: :faint:

Oh sweet Jesus! Are you going to be ok? :flower3: It's a solo trip. I think that I will be fine. I will be there to enjoy the atmosphere and trade pins more than anything else. I should have about 200 pins to trade. That's an awful lot of CM chit chats and it doesn't matter what park you are in if that's your main focus. :thumbsup2

I will try to muddle through.:sad2:

Our traders are woefully lacking, which means we probably won't be trading this year like we have in the past. Even for a solo trip I would have plans. Lots and lots of plans. I really suck at the whole atmosphere thing.

Cobb Salad, Grapefruit Cake, sitting outside people watching.....makes Mike a happy camper!

:cool1:

I'm not exactly a health food nut (as anyone who's seen me could probably guess LOL) but I LOVE their coconut crusted tofu (I think I've mentioned it before). Wash it down with some unsweetened tea and something chocolate, and it's all good!

I did the "lots and lots of plans" on a solo trip thing last time. Even with all of those plans, I didn't do everything and it was still quite wonderful.

The atmosphere thing is the part of being at WDW that I love the most, even more so when I am solo. 90+% of the people around you are in a good mood all of the time. I don't have to be responsible for anyone or anything other than myself. I am a people watcher from way back and I love kids, so being in a place where I can watch the joy on a kid's face while they meet characters or sit on a park bench with a soda and just watch people, it works for me. I love the cheesy Streetmosphere stuff at DHS. What's not to love about a chat with Paige Turner & Buzz? Where else and I ever going to have the chance to talk with someone named Tutti Frutti or Officer Les Manly? I find that the atmosphere is what I tend to remember the most, from my very first trip to my most recent. It's not the rides, it's the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, I love the rides too....but the magic for me is in those other memories.

OK, Cobb salad definitely, but the grapefruit cake.. no way.. I am a cake person, that is not one of my faves at all..

Hugs!!!

TOFU! :faint:

DH thinks the Streetmosphere performers are the most hilarious thing he has ever seen.

I had the Cobb salad when we did Lunch with an Imagineer - it was OK. We got grapefruit cake at Starring Rolls on our last trip because everybody always raves about it. It was fine, we ate it, but it wasn't amazing and I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again. We thought the birthday cake I got from Boardwalk Bakery was better.

I keep meaning to get there to try that--it sounds delicious! But, something keeps getting in the way. (Part of the problem is that my DW says there's nothing on the menu that sounds appealing to her.)
