We are so happy and excited to be going back! This trip was not planned out months in advance, in fact, we weren't planning on going back in 2011 at all! But our Dis-buds were going down and we just started thinking about Disney every day! We decided to use our check from Uncle Sam to take a trip for our 2 year anniversary!

It will be DH and myself, at Coronado Springs Resort, with Deluxe DDP for 6 nights, June 4th-10th.

Me: Lover of food, adult beverages, and anything Disney! Favorite characters are Snow White, Ariel, and Daisy. Favorite rides are Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Tower of Terror...you get the idea! Favorite restaurants are Cali Grill and Narcoossee's

DH: Willing to try anything new! He loves meat, potatoes, seafood, sushi, veggies...He's become a very diverse eater in the last 5 years! :thumbsup2:rotfl: He loves Disney and the Magic just as much as I do. His favorite characters are Belle, Mickey (don't even mention Donald Duck to him! lol Donald was flirting with me SO badly on our last trip. It was pretty funny). His favorite rides are Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, Rock n Rollercoaster. His favorite restaurants are Yachtsman Steakhouse and Cali Grill.

This trip we will be doing a different signature restaurant for dinner each night. We did this last year and it was awesome! We love the signatures. We are trying a TON of restaurants that are new to us, and even doing a Tea at the Garden View Tea Room on our anniversary!

Here's the lineup:

Hollywood and Vine (breakfast) (this one is just to get into DHS early on SWW!)
Mama Melrose (lunch)
Garden View Tea Room
California Grill (dinner)
Hollywood Brown Derby (lunch)
Yachstman Steakhouse (dinner)
Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)
Flying Fish (dinner)
Tusker House (lunch)
Citricos (dinner)
Via Napoli (lunch)
Jiko (dinner)

The countdown is on! 40 days! :cool1::yay::woohoo:

Can't wait to read along! We're going to be there at the same time and are eating at several of the same locations, looking forward to hearing your take on them.

hope you have a great time!!

I am in! :thumbsup2 We are eating at many of the same places in August. Can't wait for a sneak peak!

I'm still a relative newbie here to the dining reviews but I'm addicted/obsessed with them! I read your first post on this thread and immediately went to read your last review. I'm laughing now because you said in one of your last posts that you would never do the Dx plan again and here you are! :rotfl: I loved your last review so I can't wait to read your next one too!

Cool! I will do my best to take lots of pics! I need to exercise restraint, and patience. Sooo many times I just dug into my food and forgot to take pics! This time I am going to take as many pics as I can. What places do we have in common?

Hi!!! Thanks for joining in!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes Omg that is so funny!! I laughed out loud when I read your post! :rotfl::laughing::rotfl: DH just told me I need to explain myself! Hahaha! Ok so the reasoning behind doing DxDDP this time is if we get the regular DP (which we did on our 3 night trip in Nov), we end up buying a lot of meals OOP. We also really like the signatures. We don't eat too much restaurant food to begin with, so when we do we like it to be really high quality and great ingredients. So we did the math and it worked out for us. This way we get a lunch in the ac which is well needed in the June heat! Man is it hot! And then we get the signature dinner, which we love! The big difference is, we're not staying CL this time, so we will be making our snack credits count for breakfast a lot. We shall see how that goes!

Many are new for us. We are also doing H&V just to get in early. Had dinner at MM years ago but never lunch. I am actually going to the tea by myself while my 'men' are at Typhoon Lagoon. HBD is a favorite ... we booked for Fantasmic package. The Yachtman and Via Napoli will be new for us.

We ate at FF, Jiko & Citricos last trip. DH has never been to Cali Grille so we decided on that and to try the Yachtman and Narcoossees for the first time.

Oh cool! Cali Grill is awesome! So are Yachtsman and Narcoossee's! I review all three of those in my report from last June, it's in my siggy if you are interested! We're psyched for Brown Derby, glad to hear it's a fave! SO cool that you're doing the tea by yourself! I love that! Ok, so the three you at at (FF, Jiko, Citricos) are the three I'm MOST looking forward to! Can't wait! Any recommendations or tips? :goodvibes:goodvibes

DS and I ate at Cali Grille in '08 on our Mom & Son trip and LOVED it. This will be DH's first time. I think we had an off night at FF because we didn't enjoy our evening there at all last trip. But I think that was on us, not the restaurant. I want to give it another chance in the future.

Really liked Jiko and just loved Citricos. Everything we had at both places was delicious. Our reviews are in the "with Dad this time" link below. ;) Definitely going to check your previous review!

Thank you! I went back & enjoyed reading yours as well! :goodvibes I really cannot wait to try the YSH and Narcoossees!

I didn't love our meal at CRT overall but yes, the Chocolate Buckle was amazing! And I am sure we will more than one POP waffle for sure! Wish I could get one of those waffle makers for home!

Since our trip is a little more than a month away, and I am Dis-starved, I thought I would share some pics and a funny story from our trip last November for DH's birthday. It will start with a mini review of Crystal Palace, and some great 8:00 am pics from MK. Then onto the story about our hysterical impromptu meet and greet with Donald Duck.

Our morning started with an 8 am adr at Crystal Palace. We were running to get there on time because of a lonnnng wait for the bus, but we did manage to snap a few pics of Main Street before running to check into CP.

Now onto breakfast! We were hungry! The buffet was great. We ordered our drinks, and asked our waitress for the check. Then we hit the buffet really quickly so we could be back in time for Pooh and Friends! We got lucky this trip, and were right at the beginning of the character's route at all 3 of our character meals. The buffet was awesome. TONS of fresh fruit, berries, pineapple, watermelon, honeydew and cantaloupe. The Pastrami Smoked Salmon was yummy! The Mickey pancake I ordered at the pancake station was yummy, but not amazing. The chocolate Mickey waffle was really yummy! Potato Casserole was ahhhhmazing!! Loved it! The breakfast pizza was just ok. I tried the peach cobbler and loved it. It was so good! And I have to say, the buffet was very clean, and everyone was respectful with it. I couldn't say the same for Akershus dinner the next night!:scared1: Disgusting!

Gotta love an empty restaurant!

Beautiful! Pretend you don't see the crane!

We spent the morning doing Jungle Cruise, BTMRR, and Splash. Then as we were walking back over to Liberty Square, we saw Donald Duck in his little Frontierland costume, and a very short line to meet him! So we hopped on! We waited our turn for Donald, and when we were up, DH went over first and said hi to Donald and handed him his autograph book. Then I said, "Hi Donald!" and he turned around and saw me and just stopped what he was doing (about to sign DH's autograph book) and put down the autograph book on a nearby barrel (part of the meet and greet set) and started paying all the attention to me! It was hysterical! He literally put down DH's autograph book to greet me and sign my book! He opens my book and sees that I haven't filled in the "who this belongs to" section! And makes me fill it out! Then he proceeds to write, "to Princess Allegra, Love heart Always, Donald Duck # 1 heart". He was literally FLIRTING with me! I said "Donald, what would Daisy think?" He kind of shrugged. It was hysterical! And he wrote Princess Allegra which is my name on here! I'm a nerd. lol. Here are some pics.

It was a really funny encounter. Now DH just refers to Donald as "that b*astard" !!! hahahaha :rotfl::laughing::rotfl2:

We will be there right before you, literally leaving the day you arrive! I'm excited to read your reviews, because I'm sure I'll be fighting off withdrawals at that point!

By the way, I love your Snow White shirt! Where did you happen to find it? I'm been scouring the internet looking for fun Dis attire!

Hi!!! You changed your name! SO excited you're going back!! All my dis-buddies are getting to go back, amazing! I got the Snow White shirt at TrenD when we were there in November. It was one of the last two left at the time. :goodvibes:goodvibes Have a magical trip! Are you doing a TR or dining report?

Haha Yes, took the plunge and changed my name like I've wanted to do since I first put the other as a username and realized it would also be my profile name! I was sad that now it shows I've only been a member for a little over a month, though!!

I'm going to try to do both a trip and dining report! We'll see how many pictures I can take and if I can juggle all the information at once, but I'm pretty excited about it! Thinking about starting a pre-trip soon!
