Migration patterns of the Universal tourist

Not especially. Both parks tend to clear out in the final hours, a lot of people don't hang around until closing.

I generally don't travel at peak times, so I can't speak to what happens then, however.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm glad to hear we won't be part of a mass exodus (if we make it that late).

Might also depend on the difference in closing times and if there are evening events at one of the parks.

I went during HHN (but did not attend HHN), and US closed 2 hours earlier than IOA - on Saturday night, it looked like a lot of people who were not attending HHN went over to IOA after US closed. However, there had also been significant problems with the FJ ride earlier in the day, I think a lot of people were not able to ride in the afternoon and went back to see if they could get in before it closed for the day.

On Sunday, it appeared that most of the people staying late were going to HHN, so they were all in line for that and IOA was not too busy.

On Monday, there was no HHN and the closing time difference was only 1 hour, so not many people went to IOA after US closed. WWoHP was virtually empty by 6:30 p.m., the FJ line was walk-on, and the castle tour line was an excellent photo op because there was nobody in the regular line.

Thanks a lot, Zack. What you describe for Monday sounds like the situation for our Tuesday visit (US closing 1 hr. earlier than IoA, no evening events). It is all sounding promising.

Now that I think about it, there was something going on at US that Monday night. But based on the tables they set up, it appeared to be a private event for no more than 100 or so people, I do not think that would have affected crowds at IOA too much.
