Taken the meds, but the nausea is really bad. No photosensitivity yet but I better get off the computer before it does.

Happy Wednesday all!

Oh Gosh CC, my Mom gets them real bad too and I always feel so bad for her. Go lay down if you can in a nice quiet, dark room. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear that CC.
Hope you feel better soon :(
Hugs

:(

I had one migraine in my life, and hope to NEVER repeat that experience!

I hope you are able to nip in the bud before it gets too bad, CC! Poor boo! Maybe today is a good one to stay in bed and get some rest and keep the lights off!

The one thing I love about menopause, it took away my migraines.

Try to lie down in a dark room for a while, CC, that might help.

Migraines are just vicious.

oohhhh.....I hope you feel better soon Cathy!

Cathy I understand exactly what you're going through. I've been getting them for over 30 years.:( I experience the "classic" migraines in which I get "auras' of jagged lines, numbness in different parts of my body and then after about 2 to 3 hours of that I then get the pain!:( Ughhhhhh.:(

I've been through every test imagined and still don't know what triggers them (my Mom & Gran got them too). We kind of think hormones trigger them and Katholyn I hope menopause stops mine!:)

Hang in Cathy and just try to stay in a dark room and relax. Best of luck to you!;) :)

Sorry CC :(

Hope you can dodge the photosensitivity and make it go away.

(((hugs))), Sweetie. Go lie down in a nice, dark, quiet room. Try to sleep and hopefully it will be gone when you awake.

I feel your pain. Do you have anything for the nausea-- like phenergan or compazine?

I feel your pain CC. Migraines destroy me during PMS. The only thing that truly works for me is Excedrin and time. I hope you're feeling better soon.:D

Funny how different we all are. Menopause didn't do a THING for my migraines.

I have one word for migraines -- HYDROCODONE!!!

Amerge works great for me. Don't know what I'd have done if they hadn't invented triptans.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I laid down this morning, but the nausea is just hanging on. I got some great suggestions in PM and I will try that too.

Donna, I don't know how you do it. I just called my DH to being home some if he can get it, I haven't heard of them.

luvwinnie, I have Amerge and it hasn't been working. :(

Just took another Excedrin Migraine and back to bed.

:( I hope it breaks for you soon. In my experience the sooner you "feel it coming" and get the meds in you the quicker it can be dealt with. I can handle no light or computers ect...its the head under the pillow and Imatrex for me...Ice packs on forehead and temples can help too. Let me know when you are feeling better, I can aggrivate you and cause another one, I have that effect on people ;) :teeth: Feel better and take it slow.

I do volunteer work and observation at the Diamond Headache Clinic here in Chicago. They specialize in treatment and finding the cause of people's headaches, whether migraine or other types of chronic headaches. After working with patients there, and even sometimes sitting in their support group sessions, many have said that the clinic is the only place where people really understand them and that it's a lifesaver.

I know not a lot of headache sufferers have heard of the Diamond Headache Clinic, so I just wanted to put it out there and maybe some of you can find out more about it or ask your doctors. People from all over the country and even outside of the country come to this clinic. There are patients young and old, some as young as 6-7 yrs, some as old as 80's... I know patients who've had headaches for over 60 years! and patients who've only had them for one year.

Cathy, I hope you feel better soon.

So sorry, CC! :( I used to get migraines, doctor prescribed cafergot but it made me so nauseous, I don't know which was worse, the pain from the headache or the nausea. The last one I had I ended up in ER to get a shot and it's funny but I've not had one since and that was probably 20 or more years ago. Every 3-4 months I will still get the "aura" and see squiggles and blind spots in my eyes but if I take motrin or something right away I avoid the pain.

Someone mentioned compazine to you, I tried that when I was pregnant with my daughter. On the third day of taking it, I had an allergic reaction...wasn't pretty, actually was quite scary. I was told they don't make it anymore.

But anyway, hope you feel better soon!! (hug)
