so earlier this year I hurt my foot/ankle and went to Disney World last month and hobbled my way around. final saw an ortho and I hurt my tendon so now I am doing PT and wearing a brace. Going back to the dr the end of April a week before my disney trip. if my foot is not better then I will have to wear a boot

so my question is should I rent an ECV now and if I do are they refundable if I do not need it. I am looking at scooter bug since they can drop off pick up at resorts

How is scooter bug for those that have used them?

I was also looking at golds but I never know what time I will leave and wanted the flexibility to leave what ever time I wanted

I think I am good at the part, went with a friend with an ECV a few times pre covid but has anything major changed since then

and yes I have read @mamabunny book on how to ECV at disney

We have been happy with Scooterbug, and we have cancelled with full refund, but I don’t remember the timeline required. We have had some problems, but we are pleased overall with how problems have been resolved. I really appreciate the drop off convenience.

If you are looking for an ECV that is going to last you all day and is also water resistant call Walker Mobility Scooter Rentals. They were the Company I went with and I got so many compliments on my scooter. On time delivery and pick up and if you are arriving early or are running late they have an excellent customer service team that will help reschedule you for the next window. My driver was on time and very professional. The rate I got for the week was Amazing as well. It felt like I was driving a luxury scooter that came with damage insurance, a cellphone holder, 2 USB ports, headlight and a horn.

dose waker have set times that they meet you or do you get to say what time

Gold will work with you on anticipated arrival time. I fly from Newark so there are frequently delays getting to MCO or the resort. I generally have a text chain going with the person dropping off the scooter to let them know my progress so they can adjust their arrival time. Often we arrive at the resort within minutes of each other.

So Gold will ask for an arrival time… they have a lot of scooters to deliver so, of course, need to have a plan… but are flexible in adjusting to meet your needs on the day.

Honestly, I go several times a year and for me Gold is the clear winner. Excellent equipment is in great running order, good prices, and responsive customer service.

My arrival time is fine as I drive but I leave anywhere from 12 to 3 pm. Thst is my problem when it gets closer to my trip and I know if I need an ECV I will call gold and ask about pick up and how flexible they are

I believe Walker will work with you. They have been delivered in-person for probably 10 years or so; they were never part of the "featured providers" program prior to the exclusivity of ScooterBug.

Don’t know how long your drive is but Gold finishes with deliveries at 7 pm so if you arrive after that you would need to wait until the next morning for scooter drop off.

Other companies may deliver later than that but depending on your arrival time, it’s something to keep in mind. I generally take an early morning flight which allows for delays.

Does Walker give a set time they'll deliver, or do they give you a range? If they give you a range.how large is it? For instance, the last time I rented with Walker, they told me they'd deliver the scooter "Sometime between 10:00 and 11:00", so I had to be there for an hour waiting for my scooter. Then they said they'd pick it up between 3:00 and 4:00. An hour range was a little too much for me. Took up 2 hours of my trip just hanging around waiting on my scooter.

They set an hour window within that hour the driver will call you when he's about 10-15 mins away from the resort that way you don't have to wait around and you can start heading towards the lobby once he calls you. They are very flexible too so if you're running late or arrive early they can adjust the time for you.
