Might have to cancel some ADRs, which ones?

NOTE: I meant to do multiple choice but forgot to mark that opition. So just go ahead and pick the most likely 1 you would cancel and post which ones you would cancel if its more then 1.

Due to gas prices we now may have to cut back on some TS meals to actually be able to afford to eat! AAA is already paid off (thank goodness!), airline tickets have been bought, so now we just need food money. Here are my ADRs right now. The only ones Im not gonna mention is Boma (breakfast) and Coral Reef (dinner) because thats our anniversary meals and we DEF. wanna keep those. So which ones would you cancel?

The ones in red we have been to before
The ones in blue we have not been to before

Crystal Palace (early ADR before park opens - really dont want to cancel this but will if we HAVE to)

Donalds Safari Breakfast
Boma (1 more Boma breakfast, so there will be a total of 2)

Rainforest Cafe (AK)
San Angel Inn - forgot to add this in the poll, but I DID make an ADR for here

Oh yea and we already have CRT and hoop-dee-doo booked and paid for and we wont cancel those either. I really dont wanna cancel Chefs de france and sci-fi because those are the only 2 places that DH requested so Im gonna try my hardest to hold onto them.

With the ones you have I would probably cancel the 2nd boma breakfast and the Rainforest Cafe.
Boma- because you are already having a breakfast and dinner there
Rainforest - if you are cutting due to a budget, I don't think you get the best value for your money here

Tell me about it! I even considered doing the DDP Really do not wanna go down that route. Besides even if we did, it would only save us a little over $100 and thats about 2 TS meals right there. So instead of having to mess with the DDP, it would be a lot easier on us to just cut out a couple TS meals.

It is so hard to cut places out..
With the ones you have I would probably cancel the 2nd boma breakfast and the Rainforest Cafe.
Boma- because you are already having a breakfast and dinner there
Rainforest - if you are cutting due to a budget, I don't think you get the best value for your money here

The Rainforest Cafe: I would DEFINATELY cancel this place. There is nothing novel about this place and my guess is, they have one at a mall near your home town. The one at DAK is the exact same thing! Aside from that, I find this place way overpriced for the food and unpleasantly dark & loud. We gave up on RFC-tried a few in a few different locations in our state and around the US & we have always had terrible service.

There are lots of counter service places at DAK that I think are way better than RFC....actually Mara (the CS at AKL) is fantastic! You might consider heading over there and grabbing a CS dinner and taking part in the AKL night time activities!

The second Boma breakfast: It pains me to suggest this because I am a huge fan of Boma breakfast & dinner! I'm only suggesting to cancel one because you are already doing Boma breakfast once.

GF Cafe: Second hand knowledge, but I just have not read great reviews about this one.

RFC - Nearest one to me is about 2 hrs away. So thats not really close.

Boma - I hear ya! I havent even been there before but after all the yummy pics I've seen, its gonna be HARD to cancel it.

GF Cafe - Last time DH and I went to Disney (2003) we stayed at the GF and ate there every morning for 10 days straight. We've always had excellent food and service. We kept getting the same waitress and by the 3rd day she new exactly what we wanted to drink - chocolate frozen cappacinos. I've eaten there many other times before and same thing, good service and food.

As for the gas...oh why does it have to be so HIGH! I remember back in the days when gas was only like a dollar something. What has this world come to?! And to make matters worse gas is expected to reach an all time high of $10 a gallon by 2010!

Hands down, RFC. Even if one is two hours from you it's still a chain, in most major cities, and not Disney unique. You'll likely run across another in your travels or they will build one near you. I will admit that I don't understand the appeal of this place unless you're 7 or 8 years old. Do you have children in your party? I think it's fun for them but not worth the hype/money/mediocre food for adult parties.

I wouldn't eat at the same place twice - so I'd cut Boma easily. But even at the best restaurants, I don't have much desire to eat there that often in a short period of time since there are so many other great spots. Also -since it's your anniv breakfast, you might get some extra pixie dust that will leave that particular visit a really memorable one and the second one would seem like a downer after that. Maybe, maybe not, just a thought.

GFCafe is tasty but can be a pain to get to from AKL. You could skip it this trip and save it for next.

RFC - We went to the one thats closest to us about 9 months ago. I dont see what the huge complaint is. DH and I both enjoyed it very much. We loved the atmosphere and the food! The service was good to. We loved the fact that they sat us right next to the groillas. We thought it was pretty neat and interesting. I did sign up for the card so it would save us some money, and I have to use it between now and september, other wise it will expire and thats money down the drain. And theres no way on earth we are gonna travel 2 hrs from here just to go there again. Not when we have to pay $60 in gas PLUS $10 in tolls. Only reason why we did it last time because DH was about to leave for deployment and we wanted to go somewhere we hadnt been before.

GFCafe - It wouldnt be a huge hassle. We were gonna go to MK in the morning spend a few minutes there maybe ride something real quick and head on over to GF about 10am for a 10:30 ADR.

I would cancel Rainforest cafe- Its pricey and over the years it thefood has gone down hill.
I would cancel Donalds Breakfast at Ak because the safari characters are very frequently out in the park. I have heard that the food is good but it also will prob cut into your ak park time (as would rainforest ) and the park closes earlier
I would also cancel the prime time dinner i have heard awful things about the food.
I would also reduce the Boma reservations 2 times in one stay should be enough

1st, I'd definitely keep Chefs & Sci-Fi, if that's the only requests your DH made. You should also choose the 2 you most want to dine at & remove all 4 from the possible cancellation list. Start eliminating from there.

To me, the easy choice would be the 2nd Boma ADR. OTOH, it looks like you're staying at AKL making Boma very convenient. If you prefer the convenience of Boma, I'd cancel 'Ohana. Next, I'd cancel GFC, if you must cancel another breakfast. Though, it sounds like GFC is special to you, so you may want to keep that based on nostalgia alone.

Now dinner... I'd cancel 50's PT 1st, because the atmosphere doesn't appeal to me. It sounds like it would be most fun for extroverted families with kids. That said, I don't know 1sthand, so you can take that with a grain of salt. If you think 50's sounds like fun for the 2 of you, I'd cancel RFC. After those 2, my 3rd choice would be SAI. That's mostly due to the process of elimination. My DH & I would go for the atmosphere of SAI over 50's & RFC everytime.

I would cancel Rainforest Cafe. We have them here in Chicago and have eaten at the ones here and also the one in Vegas. We find them overpriced and not that good. To me, you are just paying for the theme.

That is an excellent point! The current commotion regarding gas prices just exemplifies how much people are living at the extreme of their means! A sad situation.
