Might be moving to Orlando area soon and need advice

We are thinking about relocating to the Orlando area. My mother lives in Winterpark and DH mother lives in Naples. Does anyone know of a good area to live in? Also any advice on different Apartments? Which school zone is better?
Any advice will be very helpful.

My folks live in Olde Naples....brother is in Cape Coral. I guess it depends on type of job you need, or location to beaches etc. I prefer SW gulf coast, but that's because I am most familiar with those areas. I'd punch in a search for Fl. newspapers and check out the classifieds for housing and jobs in them. They are local, and housing availability is in there for rentals, etc. I sure wish I was you! We have been trying to relocate there for a VERY long time.....am ready to just risk everything and move there cold turkey!

I have lived in the Orlando area (actually NW of Orlando in Apopka) and now live in the Tampa Bay area (GO BUCS!).

I used to say I liked the Orlando area better than Tampa Bay, but the longer I live in Tampa Bay, the more I like it. The only thing I don't like is that is a BIG area for the snowbirds. From about November through March, we have LOTS of elderly people, out-of-state cars, which means SLOW and erratic drivers!!!

Orlando is a little more touristy, what with all the theme parks, etc. You'd be closer to your mother (Winter Haven) if you lived in Orlando, though.

Thanks to everyone for there support. One of the reasons we are moving is because my husband may get laid off from SBC(phone company) and there no telecommuncations jobs in Indiana I have also run into a brick wall due to being in Manufacturing. That is why I went into real estate. I am pushing my husband towards Orlando due to family being there, and I have wanted to live there for years. Also thanks to the person with the school link has answered a lot of questions.
