Might be a dumb question. Would it kill my credit to...

You get annual fee on the first statement.

Did they raise their annual fee???? I swore mine was only $59...mine renews in Feb!

Depends on which card you sign up for. The premium card has a $99 annual fee and the plus card has a $69 annual fee.

So I just signed up and it says I was approved and will be receiving my card and information within two weeks. First of all is there a minimum amount you have to purchase? Second if I make a purchase right off it says that your account should be credited within 4-6 weeks so if that is the case should I have my points available to use for the beginning of January. Also could my husband sign up for his own card or do they only allow one per household? Thanks for your help.

I just applied and was approved for this deal, but realized that I forgot to fill in my Rapid Rewards number on the application.... Anyone know how they credit your points if you didn't list a RR account number?

Since you get charged the annual fee with the first statement, why not keep it open for 11 months and close it just before your anniversary and the second annual fee charge? Then...use the card for everything you can and rack up some more points. Of course, for that to be a good deal you need to have the discipline to pay off the charges each month so that you're not paying finance charges which can lower/negate the value of any points you earn.

Of course, keep in mind also that on your anniversary date they give bonus points, which some think of as reimbursement for the annual fee. If you hope to do a lot of flying, or prefer to fly standard/business class rather than "wanna fly" class (each class costs different amount of points), then earning those extra points by using the card and paying it off is a wise choice, plus having the account open longer won't ding your credit rating as much (assuming of course, you pay are responsible with your credit card usage).

So I just spoke with a representative from the card services and got some answers that helped me and might help some of you. First there is no minimum purchase that you need to make in order to get the bonus points, second points do not expire as long as the card is active, third you can use them to purchase airfare for whomever you choose not just yourself and last the offer is for one card per household so I opened one but my husband cannot. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this post OP...I got approved for one. This will really help with our trip next year, airfare was going to be a huge part of the expense. This will really help us, even if we pay the annual fee two years we come out way ahead.
