A CDC study concluded that middle seat-blocking reduces exposure to COVID 23% - 53%, just as Delta is scheduled to end middle seat blocking after April 2021. The study addresses risk of exposure, not the risk of transmission of the virus. Other airlines ended middle seat blocking last year, citing their cleaning procedures and ventilation systems as being sufficient to maintain a safe environment for their customers and crews.

Well yeah if everyone never left their room and stayed in their isolation chamber than COVID exposure would be reduced 1,000,000%.
