Have connecting rooms booked midship on the wonder july 21 alaska cruise next summer. Was worried about noise? Does anyone have any input?:bitelip:

We have been on deck 2 on the Wonder twice. Last November, my family stayed in room 2577(which is an adjoining room)and did not hear even the smallest amount of noise from next door. I highly recommend midship on deck 2 because the motion of the boat in almost unnoticeable as well. The one problem we found was that any rooms close to Edge had some noise from preteens in the hall, but that is only for a couple of hours between 8pm and 10pm. On our first cruise we had room 2626 and absolutely loved that room as well. There was a bit of noise from the restaurant above us very early in the morning but I am the only member of my family who heard it because I am a light sleeper.

We stayed in cabin 2643 (inside aft) in October on the Pacific Coast cruise. Whenever we arrived into each port at 5ish in the morning the rumbling woke me up. I'm a light sleeper. My DH, DD, and DS didn't wake up. I just used the opportunity to get changed, wash up, & go directly to the top deck. I took wonderful pix of the ship entering port.

The adjoining room was our friends and kids. They slept thru the noise.

You couldn't pay me enough to stay on Deck 2 mid-ship on the classic ships again. Our cabin was across from the back entrance to the kid's club and there was non-stop yelling and running in the halls the entire 11-night Christmas cruise on the Magic. :sad2: NEVER AGAIN!!! :sad2:

We were on the August 19 Alaskan cruise this year. We generally found that deck two was quiet with very little motion even in rough seas. The outside rooms have a large porthole window that is about fifteen feet above the water. The window is great to watch out of on cool days. With the MDR's on deck three, the staterooms on deck two have a good location.

Feel the same way. Had 2628 on the Magic. Below a restaurant AND below a loading area. Awful noise. Never again. It was an 11C GTY that they 'upgraded.' I would've rather had an inside room on a higher deck.

All of our cruises on the Wonder & Magic have been on deck 2. 5 times we were beneath the passageway port side beside Lumiere's/Promenade Lounge. Occasionally we could hear kids' running, but not loud.

One time we were underneath Wavebands. We didn't have any noise issues there, either.

Deck 2 is our choice on the classic ships.

I will be in a room on deck 2 on the Wonder and my only concern if the noise from whatever is above me will be loud. I will be in 2585 so if anyone knows please share. :teacher:

We were on Deck 2 on the Wonder for our Alaskan cruise this summer and loved it. I could see it might be an issue if you were in the few rooms that were near the lobby where the Edge club was...we were down the hall from this and had very litle hallway noise and no noise from Lumiere's above us.

It was great for getting the elevator up (not so busy at that level) and handy to the restaurants and theatre levels. We had an outside room and would definitely book Deck 2 again. DD loved the big porthole window - we had some amazing views of wildlife right outside our window.

We were in room 2564 and it was very quiet. It is just below the atrium where the official entry into the ship is. Since that was not in use in Miami and otherwise it would only be used the first day, it was not an issue. I had read in a room report, that the photographers store equipment there and you could hear that. We never heard it at all. Neither did we hear any of the kids from Edge, I think we were just far enough away from the elevator lobby that no noise would travel all the way to us.

We only heard people speaking outside in the hallway one time mid-day, otherwise it was always very quiet in the cabin. No engine noise or similar to be heard either.

8 cruises on the Magic and Wonder Mid Ship, Deck 2 Starboard.

We love it "down" there!!

I was concerned when conference rooms were changed over to the Edge and "all of those kids". We really have never been bothered by the kids from the club. We are about 8-10 rooms towards aft from the mid ship lifts. Generally speaking we have had considerate neighbors. the few times that we have been on higher decks, we have experienced lots more hallway noise (neighbors, crew). Sometimes while docking there will be some noise and vibration from the thrusters.

On the new ships cat 9 rooms on deck two are primo!! very quiet, and close to a restaurant. The only drawback is the porthole on the new ships are not as nice as on the classic ships.

Deck 2 rocks...no more noise than any other level...remember you are on a ship.... Easy walk with no need for elevator unless you go to deck 9...

Our cruise on the wonder was on deck 2, though I don't remember the room number. I didn't have issue with hall noise, but we noticed a near-constant humming that we could only attribute to engines. It didn't really bother us, or wake us up or anything, but it was pretty much always there. I could it being more bothersome for some people.

We've stayed on deck 2 ONCE and hopefully never again. The noise! Ugh! Of course, if it was my only choice, then deck 2 would be ok.

Loved my stay in deck 2 on magic. Super quiet and convenient. Would request deck two again

We were mid ship on deck 2 on the Magic last year, it was extremely quiet, no noise issues whatsoever. The porthole was quite large as well. Great location!:)

No personal experience staying there, but when I researched deck 2, the reviews seemed to be about 50/50 split between good and bad, which seems to be the trend on this tread too. :confused3 Perhaps there are some really bad ones as well as some that are just fine. I know that my decision has been to avoid deck 1 or 2 and I wouldn't book an IGT or OGT or any inside category GTY that would have a chance of being "upgraded" to deck 1 or 2. But that's just me, and I realize that it obviously works fine for some!

Maybe why this works for us - some other background noise besides my snoring.
