mid sept weather warning- Fabian

Any point in hoping that the more rain there is, the lighter the crowds will be?;)

Hope you made out alright with Grace.
How did you get the Amber Alert banner on your posts? I would love to put one on mine, you cannot possibly have too much exposure with these cases. :(

I live in South Florida, where the main topic of weather conversation during this time of year is the tropical weather. As of this morning, the weatherlady hardly discussed Fabian, saying it is expected to take a turn for the north and then northeast. I also found a website that you can watch the different computer prediciton models on. It is http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at200310_model.html and only one of the models shows it even slightly near Florida, although I think even that predicted path would end up taking it north of Orlando.

Actually it is hurricane Fabian and it is a category 4 hurricane. (Serious storm) However, it 500 miles away or more and the weather people will not be bale to predict what is going to happen with this storm until Thursday or Friday of this week. Keep your fingers crossed when is make a westerly turn it stays out to sea.

Thanks so much, MrsMud :)
It's been raining for two days straight now (light and hard), but we haven't flooded yet. Rain's always great this time of year to help out with foundations.

I had seen another member here at DIS with the Amber Alert ticker and just clicked on it--look on the right side of their website and it'll tell you how to put the banner/ticker in your sig. If you need any help though just ask :)

I agree with you 100%--there could never be too much exposure with it. I've been following the alerts ever since a little boy with a smilar condition to my son (autism) was abducted when some ---- stole the car he was in. The car's been recovered, but he's still missing. Christian Ferguson--end of June--St. Louis. Really breaks my heart. If you check the lists though almost ALL the children are recovered; thank goodness.

Just wanted to "bump" this up in light of where Fabian actually went----.

Hurricane season is from June 1st to Nov 30th. The peak of the season is around the second week of sept. Tropical Storm Henri has been downgraded and is just a little rain maker now for central fla. I have a tropical weather site you can goto for info on current storms and other tropical related stuff.
