Mid-October 2014 Crowds

DH and I are planning a trip for October 2014, and need help deciding on the dates. We are hoping to find the least crowded three days during this time to be at Universal. I like Disney, DH prefers Universal so there is no preference for whichever is first. We'll be happy to be there, either way.

The original plan is for a split stay 10/18-10/25 with Disney POR first then the last three days at Universal staying at RPR.

I am now reconsidering my dates because Orange County schools Fall break will probably be Wednesday through Friday 10/22-10/25 and the HP expansion will bring in additional crowds.

Flipping the schedule with Universal first then Disney places us at Universal over the weekend on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 10/18-10/20.

If I move the trip up a week to 10/11-10/18, that will include the Columbus Day holiday. Moving back a week places us there during Halloween week.

Travel day is Friday 10/17. After a 5-6 hour flight, we are planning a non-park evening our first night. We will not be attending HHN.

For transportation, we are planning to use Magical Express for whichever direction we will be going to or coming from POR at Disney (it's a little less magical going back to the airport ) and probably a cab the other direction.

I don't think it's going to matter when you visit next October. HP2 will be open by then and the parks will be very busy. WWoHP is still packing em in and add the crowds for HP2 and it's going to be super busy. Just pick the days that will work best for you.
