I am in the early stages of planning for 2007 trip. I have been in May. Can anyone compare mid May to last 2 weeks in Aug. I am most intrested in crowd levels and weather/rain.

Hi,

The crowd levels will probably be similar. Crowds will be moderate...not too heavy, not too light.

The difference is in the weather. Mid-May is hot and can be humid. August is HOT AND HUMID.

August heat is relentless, and is interrupted only by an almost-daily afternoon thunderstorm that will last between 15 minutes and a few hours.

Thunderstorms are also around in May but they are not as frequent and the humidity is not as intense.

When we went in mid-Aug 2004 I would say that the crowds were light to moderate. However, the last two years they have added the free dining option so I don't know since we didn't go last year. It usually rains in FL during the summer months almost daily around noonish and it is, generally speaking, a quick shower but it can be longer. Week-ends at MK are FULL probably due to day trippers with AP.

I have decided to go at the beginning of May 2007, the weather is usually pretty good at that time....hot but not unbarable... :sunny:

We are going in August. We get to the parks on the 12th and leave on a cruise on the 17th, then back home on the 20th so the kids can start school on the 24th. For us the savings/free dining was worth the trade off of the heat (I hope). Anyway we will really be looking forward to the cruise after the parks for 5 days.
