First I would like to say what a wealth of information this community has put together in the sticky threads :worship:

OK, as we get closer to my first time to DL, we finally have all our hours posted.

During the week DL will only be open until 9.

We were thinking with such limited hours, maybe we should eat light all day and then maybe dine after closing at DTD or something.

Mid may after close will the restaurants all fill up at closing? Curious if this is the same thing everyone will be planning to do :rotfl2:

Should we make ressies? We were hoping to just walk out and cruise the DTD and decide on a whim where to eat. Places we would consider would be things like: House of blues, Tortilla Joes, or ESPN zone. Nothing fancy, casual dining.

Can we risk being spontaneous or should we get on the ball and get some AP's?

TIA:thumbsup2

I'm curious to see what others say. this will be our first trip and dinner after 9 makes me nervous for some reason. especially since we will want to get a good night's sleep so we can be ready to hit the park again the next day.

I'm thinking of either 1- leaving for dinner around dinner time, then coming back. or 2- switching our lunch and dinner plans (eat out lunch, then pack a sandwich that we can eat when we get hungry). I'm leaning towards option #2 since we're planning a mid-day break anyway.

sorry I don't know the answer about the restaurants. I'm really interested to see how others who aren't eating in the park handle dinner with the late hours.

I would make PS. :thumbsup2

I second that. 9pm is late enough as it is so I wouldn't want to risk eating any later than that. Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen is my favorite restaurant in DTD so you should definitely make a PS there. Have fun ;)

bump for you, in case I killed your thread.

haha don't you worry, I can kill a thread as good as anyone! :rotfl2:

Thank you both, I will take your advice and make reservations :thumbsup2

I will also take a look into the Jazz Kitchen as well

I can see the food & wine festival is very different than the WDW version, but any of you experts that have been to both, can we succeed in just snacking booth to booth?

While I have all your attention, I thought I read there was another street very close by, lined with restaurants and the like as well. Is that true, is there much information available on that as well? Not sure what I'm searching for :lmao:

Thanks for all the help

When making rezzies, keep in mind that if you really want to close the park down, you could be there for quite a while after the official closing time. If you're in line for a ride, you get to still go all the way through the line and ride the ride. And then you need to walk out of the park to DTD. With a 9 PM closing, they figure on folks being in the park until at least 10.

It's up to you to decide whether you want to do all that and have a really late dinner, or leave the park earlier than you would otherwise have to.
