Mid-May crowds recently?

Hey everyone,

We're getting to a bit more of a serious point with planning our next trip. There's a possibility that it might be a trip with my whole family (and our SOs), which would be a huge treat. We're looking at going sometime around May 9-16, 2015. We're all college-age or older now so this seems like a perfect time.

I didn't realize this was Mother's Day weekend until today. I had really wanted to do GF Tea with my mom and younger sisters, but I'm wondering if that will still be a possibility around this time. Does Mother's Day impact crowds at all?

Basically, from what I'm reading around various crowd calendars etc, May seems like it is pretty subjective and unpredictable crowd-wise. I'm hoping for a little more concrete experience from DISers who have visited at this time within the last few years. Any help is most appreciated. Thanks!

Ps- If it matters, there would be 7 of us visiting in total including my parents.

Mothers Day doesn't impact crowds. Crowds are moderate at worst for most of May except for Memorial Day weekend. Crowds are always a subjective thing, including my estimates here.

The last time we went we were there from May 22 to May 30th. It didn't start getting crowded until Memorial Day weekend. We were use to going at Spring Break time so it was a pleasant surprise for us. This year we're going to be there on the 13th of May and I'm anticipating that the crowds will be a little less from our visit in 2012.

We were there the weekend of Mothers Day in 2013 and it certainly wasn't crowded, not till midday on Saturday when we left for a few hours anyway. We went one week later than that in 2011, and it was also nice. Going back this year May 16-23, leaving right before the 24 hour event. I think May is a great time to go as its warm but not hot yet. Thanks for your answers everyone. I think this will work. I don't know what crwds will be like this year/next year since crowds seem to be going up all the time. However, I think it'll be fine for what we want to do.
