Hi everyone! I've just booked the Tropicana for Jan 9-13, 2023 but am still figuring out our parks situation. We (husband and myself) have a toddler who turns 3 in February so we want to go while she's still 2 (and free). It will be her first time at Disney, or anywhere really so we are so excited! I've been working on planning this trip for months and the forum here has been so helpful. I was hoping to get some feedback on our tentative plans and any tips or tricks you all might want to throw my way.
So far I'm thinking of doing Tuesday and Thursday at DL and Wednesday at DCA. We were hoping this week would be nice because Orange and LA schools are back in session, the hotel was nicely priced, and we'd be leaving right before the MLKjr holiday weekend. I assume this will come with some big tradeoffs with ride closures and shorter hours. Is there any chance we will get at least a day before HM or IASW close? Or any chance the Lunar New Year festivities will start by then? I'm thinking we will end up in the window exactly between both, which would be a bummer, but not a dealbreaker.
We were also thinking of trying to get reservations for Goofy's dinner on arrival night, plus a Lamplight dinner, Oga's another day, and *maybe* a Riverbelle Terrace dinner too. I know nabbing reservations has been harder than diamonds, but are any of those spots more/less likely than others? If we managed to get Goofy's, is there any chance there will be fireworks that night (Monday)? If so, where would be the best spot to watch them outside of the parks?
Also, daughter's 2 favorite things are the new Spidey and Friends show and Inside Out. I know Spiderman does a stunt show in AC, but has anyone ever seen the Spidey/Spin/Ghosty trio? Do Joy and Sadness still hang around DCA?
