I was just trying to open a MS Word file on my laptop a few minutes ago and I get a message saying "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application" I get the same message for Excel as well. I haven't done anything since yesterday when these programs worked just fine. I looked for windows updates and had one to install and did so after this problem started. It didn't help. Rebooted and it still doesn't work. Anyone have any idea how to correct this issue????

You may be able to repair the MS Office applications. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, and select MS office. The button should say Change/Remove. Once you click it, an option to Repair should be available.

Seems to have worked. Thanks!

You're welcome.

It's refreshing to have someone ask for help with a solvable problem! :rotfl:
