Microsoft Build Conference Anaheim Sept 2011

Any DISers heading down to Anaheim for the Microsoft Build conference in Sept?

Luckily, my DH had been given the go ahead (and budget) to go and of course I am tagging along...with my 8 day hopper in hand. He will have one too but will be limited to pre and post conference DL visits...and evenings of course. I have heard stories of these conferences and wondering if the ticketed special 'party' (that we bought special tickets for) might be a closed evening party at DL? Difficult to say as the agenda and details have been hush hush from Microsoft...

Any skinny from DISers in the know ?

As someone who is visiting Disneyland the same week as the conference, any information that I was given says that the park is closed early on the Tuesday night to the public for the attendees of the Microsoft conference.

What week is the conference?

I just checked the calendar on Disney.com and every Tuesday in September it shows Disney open until 8:00pm which is normal for that time of year.

Maybe it's not closing early, but will be open later just for the conference?

The conference runs Sept 13th-16th..it might be that the park stays open later for those with a special bracelet or something...just a guess, grabbing at straws here

I have only heard of a Microsoft early closing on Oct. 4th. The park is closing at 6pm for that. Don't know of anything in Sept. Sorry!

I'm tagging along with my husband too! Well, to California anyways. His parents live in Corona, so he told the powers that be at his work that he would just drive to, sleep at, and eat at his parents house. Since our girls won't see Grandma and Grandpa until next summer probably, he thought it would be fun if we made a trip out of it. I can't wait! (Neither can Grandma who is already planning on getting 3-day passes. )

As for a special party, he has no clue. Either way, I'm glad another tag-along dis-er will be there too! Safe travels!

I plan to take the Walk In Walt's Footsteps tour one of the days.

I've heard of the different parties and events vendors are throwing and we'll attend a few of those. Not sure about events at the park, though. There will be some stuff at the Hilton, for sure.

I love these things. Feels like the bonus Disney trip.

Absolutely...this came out of the blue...we had already booked a 2 week trip to WDW in Oct-Nov so this is a super bonus...we bought 8 day hoppers as we couldn't pass up the deals!

Parties from vendors? Events from vendors? Stuff at the Hilton? Oh, tell me more! . The Facebook page and website for this conference has not been very informative (or updated!).

We got our park hoppers from Flightcenter...after looking it up on mousesavers...$200 each, best deal around, IMHO!

So the Build conference is sold out? Is it a big conference? I couldn't even find it on the Anaheim Convention Center's webpage, and I'm wondering if this is going to affect crowd levels in the park. I guess it depends on how big of a conference it is though...does anyone know the numbers? Has anyone done this conference before? Any info on crowd impact?
