Micky's Retreat

A simple explanation is that it is like a Cast Member exclusive park. There are picnic areas there. Sand volleyball courts, playground, basketball courts, tennis courts (i think), and a soccer field. There are a couple of pools. There is also a lake (Little Lake Bryan) that you can rent paddle boats. Only a couple of dollars to rent them.

It is between Chatham and the Commons.

The pools at Mickey's Retreat are also used for lifeguard swim test. It's also across the street from Chatham so it's pretty easy to get to as a CP.
They also have soccer nets available that you can use anytime.

4 acres or so, I will tell you this the only time I ever went there was for Lifeguard test and did not go back

Mickey's Retreat at Little Lake Bryan is a 19-acre Recreation Facility reserved for the exclusive use of Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members, as part of the Disney Difference.

Renovated in 1998, it contains two swimming pools, a marina, a children's play area, picnic pavilions, four sand volleyball courts, three tennis courts, two basketball courts, a banquet room and much more.

Cast Members may book family gatherings at the facility. More information about this and other Mickey's Retreat offerings are available through internal company sources.

Really? It seems like a lot of fun and a nice place, how come you never went? Does anybody ever go, or is it always dead?

I went there a lot because I really like playing table tennis, and the table there is inside a screened in picnic area, and much nicer than the tables at the apartment swimming pools.

I lived at Chatham and we would walk over on our days off and lay in the hammocks on the beach. I also got a softball team together for the Cast Member softball league and we would practice on the fields at Mickey's Retreat. It's really nice, quiet, and spacious. They also hold events like graduation and the Spring Fling/Easter party at Mickey's Retreat because they have a few pavilions. Be sure to check it out!

it sounds like a nice place. sounds like a place i'd go to relax. what days/time is mickey's retreat usually open?
