I'm sure I misspelled that? Does anyone know where I can find the song the French chef sings?

I love that song.

Thanks!

French chef... are you refering to Louie from LIttle mermaid? because that one is called Le Poisone.

I'm assuming you mean "Be Our Guest" that Lumiere sings? It's on the Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack (or any one of many Disney compilation albums)

If you mean Mickey's Philharmagic, there really is no French chef, but there is a "candlestick" who sings "Be Our Guest" as the plates and other table settings and food dance along.
That is one of the the most famous songs from Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
Its available on many CD's (the movie soundtrack, in particular) and as a 99 cent down load song on iTunes.

My favorite show at Walt Disney World - hands down! Memories! :wizard:

Maybe OP just has the wrong 3-D show in mind.

Perhaps OP was referring to Muppets 3D

Ok, so he's not French, he's Swedish, but they're both in Europe.

Of all the Disney castings, the fact that Jerry Orbach voices Lumiere has always been the most surprising. Not what you'd expect from a guy mostly known for being a gruff, street-smart New Yorker.

You know I very vaguely recall hearing that somewhere before, but I totally forgot. And I never think of him when I listen to the audio track. It really doesn’t sound like him at all. On a side note, Jerry Orbach is actually my biggest “Brush with Greatness” encounter. I played blackjack with him down at Atlantic City about 10 years back. It was funny because I was just this average Joe playing $25 & $50 hands. He sat down & was only playing $15 hands. Made me feel like a “player”. The other real funny thing is that the pit boss recognized him but didn’t know his name. He acted like he did though, and asked for an autograph for his wife. He continued the charade of really knowing who he was and like he was a big fan and all. Another guy at the table picked up on this & called him out saying, “You don’t know his name, do you?” The pitboss sheepishly replied, “No.” Jerry just smiled. Oh, and I lost all my money. We now return to our previously scheduled topic.

Actually, Jerry Orbach (or Lenny Briscoe from Law & Order) was a Tony award winning performer long before being cast first as Baby's Father in "Dirty Dancing", and later as the lead detective in L&O. In the Beauty and the Beast DVD, he discusses how people were shocked to learn he was Lumiere, but just as many were shocked when they first saw him on TV, because they were used to his stage performances for so many years.

Sadly, Detective Lenny Briscoe passed away in early 2005 from his fight with cancer. They completely removed his new L&O franchise from the air because without him, it wasn't good. He will be missed, he was recently honored by AFI as one of TV's 20 most memorable police characters.

In this same vein,

Tom Bosley was a musical comedy star before he became famous as Richie Cunningham's dad (Mr. C) on Happy Days.
Mr. Bosley was the first lead to play Belle's father on Broadway in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (he's heard on the original cast CD.)

Even before that, he was quite prolific on B-Way, including being part of the original 70's cast of Chicago as Billy Flynn!

Just reread the quoted post.....duh! Please disregard, as I basically repeated the post! LOL!

Until next time,
John
