Going to disney world nov. 15-22 and i seen i can get tickets for the very merry christmas party for the night of the 21st.
is it worth it to purchase these tickets ? do you really have many advantages ?
not sure what else to ask . any help on this would be awesome !!

I personally think it's worth the extra money. So much so that we went to it last year and are planning on going again this year. They have so many extra holiday themed things going on during the party. There is a holiday themed parade, wishes firework show, dance parties, shows, special meet & greets, not to mention the hot chocolate & cookies and the "snow" on main street. :santa: I guess to some people it's a matter of preference. But if you are someone (like me lol) who enjoy not only Disney magic but the magic and joys of the holidays I definitely think it's worth it.

i am very into christmas and all things disney !! and with my little ones i am sure they will love it also !! (have a 4 yo 2 yo and 1yo)
i have been to disneyland during christmas do you know if disney world is better ? i know its a lot bigger but would anyone say "better"

We went 2 years ago and throughly enjoyed it. So much so, that we're doing it again this year. One thing I'm doing differently is purchasing one less regular ticket to offset the cost of the MVMC ticket.

Not only will this save us a few dollars it will force us to utilize the hotel amenities. We plan on spending the day at the hotel pool, nap, dinner then the Christmas party.

I say go for it.

If you have can, go. It's something you will not be able to do other times of the year and as pp, hot choc, cookies, snow on Main Street and the characters are all in their Xmas finery. The parade is great and the park is all decorated and the castle is just beautiful.

Definitely worth it.

For those who have been before, do CM's do a good job of restricting ride and meet & greet access to those who paid for the party? I'm considering MVMCP this year and this is my main concern. I have some co-workers who went to the Halloween party and Christmas party last year (at my suggestion) and both were very disappointed that it seemed like nobody ever checked for the wristbands and people who were already in the park stayed and did things past 7:00 when in theory it was supposed to just be the party guests. It seemed like they wasted their money. I've got a family of five and if I'm going to pay about $300 for an 'exclusive' event, it better be exclusive!

DW wants to try it but I'd rather go to three more restaurants for that money!

ohh good question. i would really LOVE to know the answer to that as well :)

I've always know the cm to push ppl out who did not have the wrist bands. Of course ppl try to stay in but I think the cm eventually get them all out.

We always see the cast members at the "Hub" checking wristbands before you can enter the different lands. They really do block it off and are holding something almost like at sign so you can't just get around. They start moving people towards the exit around 6:30-6:45. We have also had our wristbands checked when going to a charcter meet and greet or trick or treating. I am sure that there are a few that slip by but overall, they do a good job getting the guests out.

That's encouraging to hear. Thanks.

I have always had to show my wristband at MVMVP. I love that event, and think it is worth going to! I love seeing these losers in the parade lol. Plus there are great photo ops; one year we got our picture taken with the Seven Dwarfs!

My hubs and I did the christmas party last year. I was so so excited for this as I have always wanted to go and this was our first time at Disney during the holiday season.

We LOVED the parade and the Holiday Wishes. The snow on Main Street was so magical.

What we didn't love:

-It was SO INCREDIBLY CROWDED. I couldn't believe how crowded. At one point we got stuck on Main Street and we could NOT move. For 20 minutes this mass of people was totally immobile. It was insane. Finally we were able to inch our way toward Tomorrowland and get the heck out of there. I kept wondering if perhaps there was a mistake and non ticket holders were still in the park.

-Lines seemed very long for everything. I have been told by many that this should not be the case and not what they experienced. Maybe it was b/c it was the first party of the season (the only one we could go to) but lines were not short by any means. The lines for cookies and hot cocoa were almost funny. They stretched on and on and on. We ended up not partaking in the cookies and drinks.

-The only Christmas outfitted character we saw during the entire party was Duffy. I happen to love Duffy so I was thrilled but I was expecting more opportunities for Christmas bedecked characters.

At the end of the party my husband was less than impressed and perhaps slightly annoyed. He didn't feel that the cost reflected what we experienced. The park seemed much more crowded during the party than it should have. He didn't feel it was worth it to do it again.

I love love loved the parade so much. I am such a Disney freak and mixing Disney with Christmas is a double WOOHOO!!! Would I go again? ummmm....I don't know. We are debating that right now as we are heading back for the Wine and Dine half marathon again this year.

Anyhow...just one girl's perspective. :goodvibes

I don't think the first party typically sells out. If I recall, there was speculation last year that the reason that several of the first parties sold out was because New Fantasyland was open during the parties when it wasn't yet open during regular park hours, and people were therefore buying party tickets to see that.
