We are going to WDW the week before Christmas for 4 days/3 nights and trying to plan our visit. Has anyone been to MVMCP? What is it like? Is it worth the money? What time do they let you into MK if you are holding a ticket?

My children will be 2.5 and 4.5 in December and not used to late nights. We are considering a one day park hopper plus a ticket to MVMCP or 2 day park hoppers.

This will be our first time taking our children and likely the only time for a while to come so we want to make the most of it.

I'd appreciate your thoughts & experiences!

We took our DD's in 2004. Our oldest enjoyed it(she was 8 1/2), our youngest two slept through most of it. (they did manage to stay awake for a cookie) We are going this Dec. and I doubt that we will go. I think we will use the money for a dinner show. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic, maybe we should have planned our day better, but our kids were exhausted. It was awesome to see snow on Main Street! Have a great trip. Janice

i did not feel it was worth the money, you will get differing views on it, if you are very curious i can say try it for the experience and then decide if your family will do it again,

we will not. Good luck

We love MVMCP and feel it's totally worth the money. The lines in the beginning to middle of December are so short that we always get to do much more than during the course of a regular day. The parade is cute and it snows on Main Street. You can find hot cocoa and cookies and so on. The only thing that would make me hesitate is that because you do have little ones, it is a late night. You can enter MK after 4:00pm (though your ticket states 7:00) however which makes for a pretty nice evening. If your little ones stay up late normally, then I would go for it. If not, I might wait another year. HTH!

we do it like every other year since we go every december. I'd rather get to the park early during the day and do what the kids want and get it out of the way. It was very cold last year and the lines were long at the party. we were able to get onto the rides quick due to dd having a disablity at the time otherwise it wouldnt of been so fun. The fireworks were nice but the kids were holding their ears since it was so loud. we didnt stand in line for the free pic. The kids enjoyed the hot chocolate and cookies along with the fake snow in the beginning but thats about it..

We loved MVMCP, but it was a late night for DD4. She slept through the parade, but woke up in time to see the fireworks. I wouldn't have taken either of my children when they were two though. They would have slept through everything, and if they didn't, I would have paid dearly for it the following day.

Have a good trip!

We love the party but it would not have worked for us when DS was 2 or 4 . If they are not used to late nights they would either sleep or be out of sorts. Money would be lots better spent on 2 -day tickets.

I have been to the party three times, and have loved it every time. But at about 10ish, my son fell asleep each time!

We are going to WDW in December, and I think this year, we will sit it out. You can see MOST of what is offered at the party during the day at MK, so hopefully that will be OK for us.

We will be there with a 5 year old and a 1 1/2 year old.

Good luck with your decision!!!

We went last year with a 5 and 7 year old. I won't go again unless the children are ALOT older. It got very cold, and the kids had on long sleeved shirts, winter coats, and mittens, and they were STILL cold. We took a nap in the afternoon, but they were both nodding off by 10pm.

Not worth that kind of money.

not worth the extra $$$. Almost everything to do at the party can be done during the day. There's even a parade(although a bit differentfrom the nightly one) Plus, toontown isn't open for the party. With a 2 and 4 year old, that's a big part of their park experience.

We went in 2004 with then a 4 and 7 yr old. It was fun and expensive. The 4 yr old made it til 10 or so. It was worth it, but I wouldn't do it again so soon. It was a bit of money. Your kids are young yet, I just don't know if they would get the full experience for that cost, if they fall asleep early still...like mine did. Good luck

We took our girls when they were 2 and 4 and if I could do it over, I would NOT have taken them! :rotfl: DH and I had gone many times pre-kid and enjoyed it very much... but after a 5 yr hiatus, we took them and my 2 yr old slept from the moment we boarded the bus to go to the park and my 4 yr old was just miserable... we left by 9pm (after only being there a mere 2 hours) since we were getting nothing out of it. I found it was more crowded that night than any DAY we were there... no room to move and the lines for rides were insane! We'd purposely made it our "no park" day so we could just relax and get the girls to nap in the afternoon so they'd be refreshed at night... they ended up NOT napping because they were too excited :rotfl: and we paid for it that night in more ways than one!!!!

We are now contemplating MNSSHP for our upcoming trip, but I'm so afraid of a repeat? Our girls will be 4 and 6 this time..... I'm so on the fence about this one!!!!
