Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Question

I know that a separate ticket must be purchased for the evening Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party festivities. However, do you need a park ticket for that day to be able to purchase and attend the evening events?

I'm arriving at WDW (non-Disney DTD resort) in late afternoon on 12/11/03, so I won't have my UPH until the following day when I check into my EPCOT resort. It would be terrific if I could attend the MVMCP on the night of 12/11/03 (my body clock will be on MST, anyway!), rather than use one of the other nights when I could be at EPCOT!

Any help will be appreciated!

We arrive at WDW on 12/14/03 and we are doing MVMCP that night. With your MVMCP ticket, you can get into the park without having to use any other ticket media. It's not like and e-night where you have to have a ticket and the extra e-night ticket too.
