We will be staying at an onsite hotel at Universal from November 30th through December 5th. We are going to get tickets for MVMCP for one night while there. Choices are Friday 12/1 or Sunday 12/3. Would really prefer Friday but worried about crowds and longer lines for the rides. Can anyone tell me what Friday nights are usually like at the party? Also if it's a sold out night how long would the waits average on the rides? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!

Rides are generally not the emphasis at the parties.

Except for 7DMT, ride waits should be pretty short.

I generally prefer Sunday parties but not enough to totally overhaul my plans. Party crowds feel "lumpy" to me. Common areas like the Hub/Main Street around parade and firworks times can feel INTENSE. Get deeper in the park and it's much lighter. As Robo said, ride lines are generally light with mostly walk ons/short waits, except 7DMT. Some rides will get a rush after the fireworks and parades, but that will die down quickly.

Love MVMCP, have fun!

Are all rides and shops open during MVMCP?

The reason I'm intrigued by it is it allows my party of two to do Magic Kingdom at night (we'll be staying at Universal like the original poster) and pay a little less than regular admission would be. I know I can't come close to experiencing all of the Kingdom in that time, but after an earlier trip this year and a separate trip to Disneyland, I'll have experienced many of the attractions already.

Most rides will be open, but some of the less popular ones won't be operating (Carousel of Progress, Tiki Room, Riverboat).

I believe all of the shops are open..all the big ones definitely are.

Awww, I wish Carousel of Progress was running. I always go on that when I'm in the parks.

I've seen plenty of lists saying what IS open. It would be nice to have a definitive list of what ISN'T open.

I would just look up last year's list/map. It's a safe bet that whatever isn't listed on there will not be open for the party.

Also keep in mind that you can get into the park at 4pm. So you can use 4-7pm to ride any of those rides that are closed during the actual party (i.e. Carousel of Progress).
