Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Lets Talk Characters!

Yes! I'd like to see more pictures too!!!!!

And Campbellz, I was so inspired by you and your DH, I went out and bought a Santa hat to wear to the party! I don't know where to find a green one or the cool scarfs!

So excited! I leave next Wed. and will get to DW on 12/13/14!!!! :woohoo:

Thank you so much hey PM me and I'll let you know I dont know if you can get on trouble here for advertising someone else's place.

I want a ton of photos from you too please! Make it the best trip ever!

just a FYI make sure you put your hat away as it was 2 seconds from going into the abyss at the Space Mountain Ride.

Just got back from our MVMCP trip.

I posted before asking about Merida and she is the only character we wound up meeting because my kids were more interested in the rides.

We checked around 4 and her line was all the way up to the castle. DD said she would wait until summer to meet her rather than waste our one evening in line. We checked back later and she wasn't there, but we did finally meet her after the fireworks.

We watched from the bridge near her meet (great view of the castle pre-show, but fireworks blocked a bit by trees) and then went right over to get in line when they were finished. It was perfect. We were first in line, waited 10-15 minutes. When they reopened, Merida came out to greet the line, took DD by the hand and skipped all the way in with her.

We are not going until Christmas next year. I want to go on a party night…but, DH REALLY wants to be there on Christmas Eve and More importantly Christmas day.

I feel like I am missing out on something by not going to a party. I need to be greatful we are going at all.

I would totally do the party it's more Christmassy and spend actual Christmas Eve and day with my family. However if he really wants to go for Cheistmas tell em go for it I suppose...

Has he ever been to Disney on Christmas? If not, collect some crowd photos for him from the board this year and then show them to him. He'll probably reconsider. I've never gotten the appeal of spending what I consider to be a family holiday like Christmas in a packed theme park with 100,000 strangers!

I don't know why anyone would want to deal with the crowds at DW on Xmas day! Touring Plan predicts the MK and Epcot to be a level 10 out of 10 and that is one day that historically, they have to close the parks. You may end up at the AK or HS which are predicted to be 8 out of 10.

That's why I'm going the 13th - 19th before the schools get out!

You will still get to see everything decked out for the holidays, and be able to see holiday wishes and the Christmas parade. The only thing you will be "missing out" on are the special characters.

How long is your trip? Could you start on the last party night and end the day after Christmas? Win-win!!

Nothing is set in stone yet as our dates. Only DH wants to be there for Christmas.

that's awesome!

This year the last party will be Dec 19, so should be Dec 18 next year. If you are planning a week-long trip, you could do both :)

You can always go to the Magic Kingdom and always experience Christmas at Disney in December, however the parties are limited time events and are different experiences...they are not to be missed.

I think every Disney / holiday lover should do the holiday parties at LEAST ONCE - truly amazing experience.

Those who have watched the castle light-up & fireworks.. how is the view from behind the castle? I am too claustrophobic to be in the ocean near the stage.

The view of the fireworks is quite good. Obviously it's not optimum viewing, you are surrounded by the fireworks.

You can't see the Castle Lighting at all from there.

The back of the castle has lights on the very top only. We were waiting for Jack during the castle lighting, so it was already lighted when we walked out of Fantasyland. I thought that Elsa made a mistake and forgot the back, but I guess it's always been that way?

Bumping for more recent experiences. I know the last few parties have been rainy and some of the entertainment was cancelled on various nights. My mom is going tonight and said it is very chilly for Florida (Thanks, Elsa ;)) My party is over a week away, but of course I'm worried about the weather now. I have a toddler who won't tolerate being out in the cold as well as I will. Anyone go recently, how did you fair with the rain and/or cold?

I am a little concerned about this as well. I see it like going in the summer when it is hot. Most of the attractions are in doors or you can walk through the shops to get there. I am concerned about the MVMCP on Tuesday as they are forecasting storms now. I hope it is a quick passing storm. I am going out to buy some warmer Disney clothes for the kids tomorrow though as it looks like the forecast may be chilly for most of the time.

We went on Friday night...it rained from maybe 710-730? We were headed to get a spot for the parade in frontier land and it was raining pretty bad...so we went into country bear jamboree instead. By the time we got out the rain has stopped but the ground was super wet so we opened up a poncho to sit on. We were able to get a front row right across from diamond horseshoe around 750? And waited for the parade. They did cancel a celebrate a season while we were heading out though...maybe 1115 ish? I thought the crowds were not too bad and they did say it was sold out. Two cool things that happened...
1. We got there at 3:45 and they were letting people in. I don't know what time they started but there was no line or anything to get in
2. We were in the circus tent store by dumbo and Santa jack came in and was walking around and interacting with us and the employees. It was very cool. I asked the girl who worked there and she said that was the second time he had done that around the same time which was about 10:15/10:30ish. He was pointing to everything and saying "what's this?!" Hahahaha the costuming and makeup on him is amazing!
